I know this is probably another stupid question, but I cant find any info on this particular brand of laptop, and maybe someone has experiance in it..
I have a newish Presario R3000, i was an asshat and put a bios pwd on it, and subsequently forgot it. Now I know that some bios' have backdoor pwds, and even some of the laptops let you yank the battery for 24 hrs or so and then everythings cleared, but i know that most laptops arent like that.. does anyone know if this laptop is even salvageable without me buying another securty chip/mobo? And if it is, what should I do to erase the pwd? thanks in advance

google the laptop/goto the compaq site, sometimes there's key commands that will reset the bios
