Watch this video. This is insane. The government of Japan has enforces waste size limits on employees of companies. Guess "fat" people can live on the streets because they won't be finding work there any time soon.

You people are ridiculous. Yeah, I can understand being uncomfortable around someone who is morbidly obese, but someone with a slight weight issue shouldn't even cross your mind twice. The ONLY reason being around a morbidly obese person would be uncomfortable is because you don't want to stare but at the same time you don't want to ignore the person either. I think that's what I have a big problem with. I need to get over it. I want people to know that I care, but I also don't want them to think that their physical ailments are all I can concentrate on and that I feel sorry for them (even though at times I do). I go with my husband to Brooke Army Medical Center all the time. It's one of 2 major hospitals that severely injured soldiers from Iraq go to. They get a lot of severed limb patients and burn victims. I have nothing but utmost respect for the sacrifice these men made. I don't want to stare, but I have so much respect for them. Then again, I don't want to avoid eye contact because then they may think others are afraid to look at them. My husband handles it so well. He says "hi" to every one he walks by, but I am shy and don't like to talk to people I don't know. I just wish I knew how to handle it. If you all have issues with being around overweight people, then that is on you. That is something YOU have to deal with, not the person with the weight issue. Just like I have to deal with how to be around people who are injured. They don't always want people feeling sorry for them. Maybe they want normalcy.

I guess I see it this way: a company wouldn't not (double negative...WOOO) hire a war veteran with a missing leg, even if it were a retail store. That's just wrong. If people take issue with the fact that he is missing a limb, that is their problem. The same can be said of an overweight person.

Have you ever been around a morbidly obese person and smelled them? Their smell is what bothers me. Nothing else about them, just the smell. And, I can get over that, if it's not too overpowering.

I had a close friend who was somewhere between overweight and morbidly obese. She was like 5'1 and weighed around 320 I'm guessing. We were great friends. She never smelled at all. She showered every day and kept clean. Just because someone is really overweight doesn't mean that they smell. Yes, someone who can't get up off the couch because they weigh 800 pounds is going to smell, but I highly doubt they are going to work a retail job, much less any job because their weight won't permit them to sit at a desk or stand for more than 15 minutes.

300 pounds isn't morbidly obese. Sure, it's obese, but it's not morbidly obese. Shit, with my mixture of fat and muscle and height, I'm approaching obese myself (thankfully, I'm losing the fat) but it's all how you see it. A six hundred pound fat guy won't be able to get all of the folds and they will stink. Typically, if you let yourself go to be that big, you've got no real interest in personal hygeine in the first place.
