Watch this video. This is insane. The government of Japan has enforces waste size limits on employees of companies. Guess "fat" people can live on the streets because they won't be finding work there any time soon.

Interesting quandary. Not hiring based on alcoholism vs being a fatass. Neither are good for business. For a retail job, I wouldn't want to hire someone who weighs 300 pounds. It's all about the customer perception, and a porker gives the perception you hire lazy degenerates. If they don't give a shit about how they look, what makes me think they'd give a shit about how they did their job?

Both alcoholism and weight are controllable. I know you'll give some lame ass excuse like it's hereditary...I don't care. Here's a novel idea: spend less time posting on here and spend more time actually trying to lose weight. Try running 3-4 miles every day and eating right and you might see some results. I'm sorry, but when I walk into a store to buy something, I don't care if the person weighs a buck ten or 300 pounds. I care about how they interact with me. It's not bad for business unless you are some waste of space snooty person who thinks they are better than everyone else. We all have our physical flaws. We all can do something about them. I could be one of those girls that wakes up 3 hours before I have to be somewhere just so I can get ready, do my hair, makeup, and nails. I don't though. I want people to like me for me, not for the way I look. If I spend time getting ready, it's because I want to look good for myself. Other's perception of me means nothing. I think you should back off Impala. Your argument makes no sense. I think people associate overweight people as having bad hygiene. That's just not the case. If a person has good hygiene and is qualified for the position, then they are 100% hired IMO.

But appearance is a part of sales. Remember when I didn't like Trudy's because all their waitresses looked like dirty hippies? I don't feel like supporting a place that hires people who look like that. Sorry, but if they don't care about who they hire, what else do they not care about? It isn't good business.
