Some of the greatest political philosophers paved the way for our government. As stated before, if you know anything about government and law, you know that Rawls and Locke wrote significant works that our Constitution was based off of.

Philosophers can also get jobs at hospitals serving on the ethics committee.

Philosophy degrees can also get you in the door to places that a psychology undergad degree can. If you have ever taken an intro to psychology course, the first thing they teach you is that psychology began as a branch of philosophy.

I've worked some pretty cool jobs in my day all because I had a bachelor's degree and knew how to write well. If you aren't sure exactly what path you want to take in life and see undergrad as simply a pathway to a graduate degree, then I can definitely see where majoring in a liberal art would be useful. Remember, a lot of you spent 5 years working on your BS in engineering. It took me a little under 3 years to get my BA in philosophy. I had no credits entering school. I'm definitely not bragging about that. I'm just saying it was the cheaper route at the time. Once I finished, I worked for a while, decided I wanted to pursue journalism, and enrolled in undergrad again. Why did I chose undergrad instead of grad school for journalism (I could have just as easily entered into the grad program)? It was yet again cheaper. I only needed 2 semesters of courses for another BA. A Master's would have taken longer. Guess that worked out well for me because I finished 2 months before the baby is due. Definitely wasn't a planned pregnancy, but it something that I am very very happy about and wouldn't ever change.

I guess my point is, there is absolutely no difference in value between any of the liberal arts degrees *shock* including psychology *shock* at the UNDERGRAD level. They are though in fact useful degrees but not in the same way as an engineering degree or nursing degree. It's just a different route to take.
