Okay, Rangers...

Rangers have the most hit points and can wear the heaviest armor (medium) of any of the Rogue archetypes. Their primary attack, as you may have guessed already, is ranged melee via either a bow or a crossbow. From what I understand and have read, crossbows generally attack harder but bows generally attack faster. At this point, it's hard to really say with any real certainty.

I don't know about endgame, but it seems as if Rangers have pretty decent CC capabilities. They can stun/mesmerize a mob/player by attacking out of stealth, they have a ranged snare ability, can drop root traps and have a feat-trainable AOE fear ability at later levels. I've heard that their DPS drops significantly after 60, but my DPS right now at 16 is pretty good.

Honestly, I feel a little OP currently. I have a wealth of CC options and I can pretty much kill any mob +/- two levels using one combo (Salvo).

Neat thing about Rangers is that they can zoom in to first-person mode and fire their bow. When in FPS-mode, the Ranger's ranged attack range is increased by some value. I've found that it's generally too much of a PITA to do this for it to be worth it, but may change my mind once I've set-up a macro to zoom in/out and once I'm not able to effectively one-shot mobs.
