Bank of America sucks my nuts Options

So, I knew that they did have a lot of fees. Even with a "student" account, you would get slapped with fees if you saw a teller more than once a month, use the ATM more than 6 times in one month, etc. Now this is bullshit, I have since moved from TX after I graduated, so the closest branch is at least 300 miles away. Anyways, they send me an e-mail with my online statement, and I never bother to look, but I decided to do it today. Since February they've been charging me a $9 "account maintenance fee", so my left over balance from May 06 is now $72 less. This is fucking ridiculous that they would change their minimum balance fees without even letting me know. Fuck these assholes. Luckily I'm going back to TX next week, and I'm closing my fucking account. Is there even anything I could to do get my money back from these assholes?

If you're in Austin, for checking I'd recommend United Heritage Credit Union. 6.01% APY as long as you get online statements, do one direct deposit/debit per month, and 10 debit card transactions a month (doesn't matter whether it's processed as debit or credit, but ATM withdrawals don't count). That APY is up to 25k, APY over that is 1.01%. Good customer service overall, I just wish they had a savings account that was as good as this checking account.

I've got my savings at Washington Mutual right now. Their online savings account (just have to set it up online and online statements -- otherwise is just like their other savings account) is currently 3.3%, higher even than the online-only banks. My boyfriend and I have both experienced good customer service with them, but they have their horror stories just like every other big bank.

When the fed isn't going all screwy with the federal funds rate, eTrade usually has the best savings rate, but I fucking HATE their website and interface. Haven't heard good things about their customer service either, and my own experience was so-so. ING Direct has fantastic customer service, but their rates the past couple of years have been a tad bit lower than other online-only banks.
