BusinessWeek reports that Facebook has turned down an offer for $750 million and is looking for 2 billion dollars. The article speculates that one possible suitor would be Viacom. From the article: 'A Facebook deal would help Viacom founder and Executive Chairman Sumner Redstone fend off a growing challenge from News Corp. The media conglomerate run by Rupert Murdoch has poured enormous resources into the Internet during the last year. It acquired social-networking pioneer MySpace.com last year for $580 million.

haha what business method did you use to determine this?

well, myself and others could program and reproduce the facebook code in less than one month for 10k

the thing that makes facebook worth 750 million to 1 billion dollars is it's huge base of millions of people in the 18-25 age range

this range is the hardest for advertisers to reach, and having a website that millions of people in this age group visit at least once a day is worth 1 billion to advertisers

not to mention that as new kids go to college the facebook base automatically renews itself, it's every advertisers wet dream

you're not thinking about this from a business perspective

1 billion i can understand, 2 billion is ridiculous
