So I'm paying $20/month for the AT&T internet connection. Only thing is, I never use it and just pick up Wi-fi wherever I go.

Am I in effect paying $20 for something I could be leeching for free?

If you have AT&T DSL at home, then they throw in the Wi-Fi services for free.....(of course, thats only the $24.99 and up plans)
