So, instead of putting in some form of public transportation and having it pay for itself, we build a bigger road (with tax dollars) and increase the price during rush hour. I'm fairly certain the tolls will be operated by a foreign company with Houston receiving a portion of the collected tolls. Anyway, is it just me or does anyone else think this is retarded? I think it will turn out to be a complete failure with no one using the toll lanes during rush hour, making the construction unnecessary as the traffic will be the same. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Meh....I dunno.....
Right now I live in Katy (edge of, not Katy-proper)....and I work in an area between katy and Houston itself....So, for those who know around here....I live off I-10 and Fry Rd, and I work off of I-10 and Eldridge Parkway.......it takes me an hour to get to work in the mornings, and about a half hour to get home in the afternoons (I leave for work at 6am, and leave work at 4 pm). Now, I am getting ready to move to Montrose, and will still be working at the same place.....EVERYONE is telling me that my commute will be shorter in the mornings, but longer in the evenings. So, I think there's a whole slew of factors involved. I personally think I will use the main roadways in the mornings, and then use the Westpark tollway in the evenings. |

why does that not surprise me just messin with ya man heheh My fiancee and I are thinking of moving to the Montrose area after we get married. Oh and Duane, the commute into town in the evenings on I-10 is no better. We've been doing it everyday for the past few weeks and it's been bad everyday. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Yeah, it sucks...its NASTY on 59 and 610 heading downtown..... and I-10 is patchy during evening rush hour..... thats why I figure I would take I-10 in the mornings when its supposed to be more clear (except days there are wrecks), and then take WestPark Tollway in the evenings. |
