I guess it just depends on the school/prof... I mean if your homework is given to you and supposed to be done only by you with no help, then sharing with and getting ideas and answers from others would be cheating. It just so happens if you're doing it on facebook rather than the library, you're way easier to catch. I remember having profs on both sides of this fence.
