I usually partake in early voting so I don't have to deal with the crowds and can do it on my schedule but I decided to see what it was like to vote in the actual primary.
I headed to my precinct's station and there were about 300 Republicans standing there, flat out being told that there is no Caucus for Republicans Other things I noted, at times, they were asking "Are you Democrat or Republican?" which is the wrong question to ask. I don't know if this was underhanded or just a mistake. Lastly, I listened to Obama's speech and have to wonder, what does he really believe. He claims that we need to get out of Iraq and need to focus on home but last night he stated, "we can change the world" -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

I explained everything in that "damn" paragraph you just lack the ability to comprehend what you read.
QUOTE You didn't explain a damn thing with this entire paragraph. You said you feel you've lost free choice. What free choices have you lost? How are you as a citizen affected by a corporation receiving a tax break? Where did I say anything about a tax break in that paragraph? Corporations do not receive tax breaks for political contributions... QUOTE How would you as a citizen be affected if all these "evil" corporations were just immediately slammed by the govt with regulations which bring them to their knees? While I advocate more corporate regulation, even though I did not even address that in this post, I do not want to bring the corporations "to their knees". QUOTE How about gas prices at $5/gallon? I think you completely misunderstand the importance of large corporations and how important their success is to our capitalist society's economy. What happens when they all start leaving the country for greener pastures? Wow, try reading my post next time you want to respond. While I do not agree with our economic system, the argument that I am making has nothing to do with destroying corporations or bringing about some massive socialist revolution. All I am saying is that the money that corporations pump into political campaigns is directly effecting the decisions that politicians make instead of the fear of being voted out of office via angry constituents back home. QUOTE mmk.. whatever that is supposed to mean. Look at the back of U.S. Currency to understand the reference I am making... QUOTE Let me stop you right there. American citizens choose who represents them in the government. We are indirectly making these decisions with our votes. Again, if you would have actually read my post you would understand that yes votes DO COUNT but they are heavily tilted by the money that corporations pump into candidates. Candidates like Huckabee, Joe Biden and Ron Paul never had a chance because they lacked the big contributions from corporations. True free choice has been eliminated by media spending. -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

I explained everything in that "damn" paragraph you just lack the ability to comprehend what you read. uh oh, starting to attack the poster and not the post... Where did I say anything about a tax break in that paragraph? Corporations do not receive tax breaks for political contributions... I gave a tax break as an example. If that's not a valid one, what is? While I advocate more corporate regulation, even though I did not even address that in this post, I do not want to bring the corporations "to their knees". What type of "regulation"? Wow, try reading my post next time you want to respond. I did. These types of sentences are a waste of my time bud. What decisions are the corporations affecting that you would otherwise make as a voter? Look at the back of U.S. Currency to understand the reference I am making... I guess it escapes me. You'll have to explain. I (as you should be able to assume) am well aware that the phrase is on our currency. I fail to see what relevance it has to this conversation. Again, if you would have actually read my post I did. Again a waste of my time to read this stupid shit. you would understand that yes votes DO COUNT but they are heavily tilted by the money that corporations pump into candidates. In what way are your votes "heavily tilted" by the money corporations donate to candidates? Candidates like Huckabee, Joe Biden and Ron Paul never had a chance because they lacked the big contributions from corporations. Huckabee never had a chance because he's too religious. Ron Paul never had a chance because he couldn't keep from saying cooky ass things. People (all people, not just corporations) tend to not donate to campaigns they don't feel will be successful. And what about Mitt Romny and Rudy Giuliani? They both raised far more money than McCain. You gonna blame their failure on the big corporations too? True free choice has been eliminated by media spending. So you don't go to the ballot box and choose the candidate you want because of corporations? |

uh oh, starting to attack the poster and not the post... NO ONE knows how to break down a quote like Impala. He takes that trophy hands down without a contender.
