Waah waah, you make nasty, bigoted statements and then complain when someone calls you on it? Boo fucking hoo. Props to McCain.

QUOTE
In his first public comment since Tuesday's event, Cunningham defended his use of Hussein, which he called "a proud Muslim name."

"I have nothing but respect for my Muslim brothers and sisters," he said. "The ones who oppose that particular name, they're the ones with the problem, not me. His name is Barack Hussein Obama."

well...it is a muslim name. he never called him muslim. but even if you read obama's bio, it says his middle name is of muslim decent. who cares?

Audio isn't quite synced with the video, but here's a vid of the event (and McCain's response): http://youtube.com/watch?v=gaOYtxd-dXE

reaffirms what i thought. he never even said the word muslim, just stated his full name. people state other peoples' full names all the time when talking about them. i dont see the big deal...

Do you use people's full name all the time when talking about them? People do that kind of stuff for a reason. I think it's obvious to everyone (except you maybe) that he was saying his middle name because he wants people to associate Obama w/Saddam. Do you also think Hillary has no motive behind calling herself "Hillary Rodham Clinton" when she's around liberals and women, and just "Hillary Clinton" when she's around conservatives & men?

depends on who it is (jfk, lbj, etc.) but yeah, at times everybody does. when you're angry at somebody, sometimes you say their full name. i can't believe i'm even explaining this to you. when a mom gets mad at her kid, she'll often say their full name to imply that their angry. this guy did that to obama...obviously he's against obama, so it makes sense.
yeah, maybe he did say it to make people think about "hussein" or whatever, who knows. the point is, it's still his name and why is it even a big deal? if everyone was comfortable with his name to begin with, people wouldn't be getting all bitchy about it. after awhile and everyone knows his name, nobody will even care.

I can't believe you really just made this statement... you're comparing this guy's obvious using his middle name to associate obama with saddam, to your mother using your middle name when she's pissed!??!?

It was a big deal to mccain because he didn't want someone speaking that way at one of his campaign rallies. I admire him for coming out against the comments.
