Russia aided Iraq in war Options

As American troops moved toward Iraq, Saddam Hussein was receiving information about U.S. battle strategy and troop movements from a Russian ambassador, according to a released Pentagon report.

BAGHDAD, Iraq  — The Russian government had sources inside the American military command as the U.S. mounted the invasion of Iraq, and the Russians passed information to Saddam Hussein on troop movements and plans, according to Iraqi documents released as part of a Pentagon report.

Why are we surprised? We armed Afganistan against Russia in the 90's. They're just returning the favor.

You mean the 80's? During the Cold War when the Soviet Union was the posterchild of the communist evil empire? Not exactly the same circumstances persay.


Anyway, who cares? A lot of good that intel did them since we had control of the country within, what....5 days?

KGB intel at that point was probably ridiculous with the shape Russia was in, but it is a little bit of a surprise since Vladimir Putin was supposed to be America's good buddy post-911
