So I have a Sony DAV-BC150 5 disc dvd changer with surround sound system. I lost the remote in a move (or someone didn't give it to me when I asked). I love the thing, and I don't want to buy a new surround sound system for a damn remote. Anyways, I looked on Sony's parts thingy and a new remote would cost me $54.53 including shipping. I checked ebay, and it was the same price. I tried buying a cheap universal remote that worked with Sony DVD players, and it woldn't work (my guess is because it's also a surround system). Is there another universal remote that I can buy that might be cheaper than spending $55 or should I just throw down the cash. I haven't had the remote since June, and I'm really sick of not having it. I can't change sound settings or watch special features or anything. HELP! Find me a cheap way out of this one...
Post meant mostly for Impala since he seems to be the home theatre expert these days. Thanks! |

yeah HTIB = home theater in a box
and before you spend $50 to get a replacement, might be worth a shot to get a cheapy from walmart that has the aux/receiver/amp button. I could definitely see a HTIB being controlled under that button, because it's essentially just a receiver with a built-in DVD player. Plus you can always take it back if it doesn't work. also you might check your cable/sat tv remote (if you have one) for an aux button |
