Basically, you keep your inbox count at 0. I started doing this about a month ago and really, really like it. I have a slightly more elaborate folder setup since I need to keep client e-mails separate but the concept is the same. I guess I get too much e-mail for me not to use a system like this. I hover around 500 work e-mails a day and maybe 10-20 personal e-mails. Of the work e-mails I get only 2-3% actually pertain to me.
