So Obama won a Nobel Peace Prize. Thoughts? I like Obama, but I think this prize was awarded prematurely. It would be more meaningful if Obama had actually gotten some peace-inspiring accomplishments under his belt, rather than just the hope of such.

Well he did talk about wanting peace at some point im sure.... guess thats good enough. Too bad he's a communist tool. But hey if he's put on a list with Jimmy Carter i think its fitting.

Alfred Nobel is rolling over in his grave I'm sure.
He basically won "for not being Bush." Read and watch this article, haha: http://www.timesonline.co.uk/tol/news/worl...icle6868905.ece This post has been edited by jonathan83: Oct 10 2009, 12:19 AM -------------------- ![]() |

Purely political gift to Obama.
Oh and Brandon: You know that Bush signed the first big bailout ($700 billion) into law last October, right? Not just Obama/Democrats have fucked us in the ass financially. -------------------- |

of those who didn't deserve it (Kissinger, Carter, Gore) I think Obama is the closest to deserving it, but in like 5 years if he tries and does right.
I think there is only 2 other black men who got it? Kofi and Desmond, where those two deserved it. -------------------- Southern Rock, beer and bears!

Hitchens on Obama's Nobel Prize: "It's a prize for affect, not effect." A brilliant comment, no doubt wasted on an American audience.

If you're going to state that, then don't defend him. You guys didn't get him into office. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

you mean michigan? or china? Neither, I mean the north and what she's hinting at regarding republicans. Carter ran in the south as a moderate democrat, even though he is/was nowhere near moderate. He didn't win over democrats in the north. Historically, the south has been a Democratic region, so it's no surprise that the south voted for him. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Well, Dixiecrats are dead, shouth is pretty republican now. You are right about the south being democrats and voting for him, i think its the last time they went mostly democrat.
