without bathing?

bathing to include washing your body and/or but not necessarily washing your hair. generally being covered with water however you like to do it

1. whats the longest you've gone without bathing in the past? was this hard for you to accomplish?
2. with this experience how long do you THINK you can go comfortably WITHOUT feeling the need to have a bath?

this is for science

1. At least a week back when I was younger.
2. Depends. If I was camping again, then I could probably go over a week. Otherwise, a day or two. I have really oily hair, and I have a lot of hair, so yeah.

I think 4 or 5 days was the longest I've ever gone.

I couldn't possibly make it past 7 days, cause I shave my head everyweek....and those little hairs are annoying when they are everywhere post shavin

its just seriously weird to hear people cant go a week without bathing or even to think of needing to shower after 3 days

1. longest ive gone without bathing was about 2 months give or take a week on several occasions it only sucked because of my hair and since its really curly it dreadlocks but it was a bitch to unknot and kind of hurts to sleep on the tangles after awhile

2. i think i could go on indefinitely without showering if i had the mohawk. but definitely could get to that 2 month point with ease

but i do wash my hands frequently, brush my teeth, and wash my face on a fairly regular schedule

im not a wussy

It is impossible for me to comb my hair after sleeping on it. It's too oily and won't go down, so it just holds that form that it got from when I was asleep. I guess if I didn't care about that, then I could go without.

prolly a week in high school (normally this would be gross but since more than 50% of my day consisted of being in a leotard for drill team it was pointless to worry about my hair or being all clean when i actively sweated 4 hours a day and was sweaty the rest of it)

so when i felt the need to wash the dance garb, i felt the need to wash the dance machine!

A week or so.

And women can go for longer without showering, they don't necissarily build up the amount of body odor as we do. If i don't shower for even a few days i start to smell like asshole covered in deodorant.

If we lived in a society wraught with disease and famine, you'd be right.

other than the smell we don't REALLY need to shower but once a month or so unless you play in the dirt all day.

I gave the week thing as a one or two time thing, usually i shower once every day or every other day.

but but but....what about shaving my legs? Plus, I work with kids all day. Those little guys spread disease like crazy. One kid I worked with had the frickin chicken pox. I also have to be outside with them.

Edit: Low income kids at that.

If you work with kids or sick people, taking showers daily is completely necessary. It's not like germs are selective to just your hands! Yikes.

i can run 4 miles and then just start breaking a sweat at an average of 7.5 minute miles. its all relative to fitness and water intake. but to say you are a lazy slob if you dont stink up a whole building at the end of a day doesnt really stand up to reality

When you up your body temperature you get into the thermal increases of burning calories and sweating blah blah blah

By forcing your body to up its temperature while working out, you will maintain a higher temperature which should burn more calories and shit and cause you to sweat more.

So if you train like this a lot, then you run without the extra clothes, you'll be able to last even longer since your body is more used to working under hotter conditions

hooray! two people with valid points both of whom are too insulting/passive agressive to actually argue about them. Fun shit.

No, showering is not necessary to your physical health.

However, some people sweat more than others. I know my buddy Timbo sweats like a motherfucker from it just being hot because of his genetics. Sweat is a reality, and it stinks. It's not some imaginary thing that only fat people do, everyone fucking sweats, some people more, some people less.

I am one of those people that will break a sweat from a pounding hour workout; sue me if i wan't to smell presentable.

I sweat from thinking about sweating. I've always sweated easily, but it got worse when I started working out. My body got so used to sweating that when I would put on my workout clothes I'd start sweating almost instantly...heh.

drink mountain dew. lots of mountain dew. your body fights to keep basic functions running with the meager amounts of water supplied.

its an amazing thing. some days everything tastes like mountain dew because your saliva is laced with it.

and showering is every 1-4 days, depending.

normally shower twice a day. once when i get off work, once sometime during the day before work. the 2nd isn't necessary, i just like to take showers.

i have gone 2 weeks without showering while camping in palo duro. it's not hard to bath while camping though. all it requires is a water source you can boil and let cool to proper temperature, some anti bacterial soap (only real reason to bath is to avoid infection) and a hankerchief. sponge baths get the grim and are efficient. no excuse to go unclean. using rubbing alcohol and rubbing yourself down each night wards off ticks and chiggers, and also kills bacteria. really cheap, really compact.

as far as cathryn is concerned..... yea, sorry cat, but it is very disgusting. the main thing i keep being reminded of is that you have a period every month and don't shave regularly. and you also run, and don't shower afterwards.

I cant stand not being clean shaven. My hair grows pretty slow but I still shave everyday so that my skin stays soft. Nothing feels worse to me than itty bitty pricklies when i wear jeans. Im pretty weird about that I guess though. I shave every time I bathe and I take a bath (usually bath, sometimes shower, sometimes both) everyday.

Except for my armpits, my hair grows too quickly for shaving to me effective... like half an hour afterwards (even with lotion & a brand-new razor), I'll have stubble. Waxing works better, but fuck... ya know, it's WAX. Shit hurts.

Armpits I shave like twice a week, pubes I trim with good ol' scissors. Shaving there = razor burn for weeks, waxing there myself doesn't work very well, and I refuse to go pay $20 or so for some stranger to rip out my hair. Legs I wax or whatever whenever I goddamn feel like it. I wear jeans 99.9999% of the time, so it's not like it really matters. Having hairless legs is a sore subject for me because I caught so much hell for not shaving when I was younger (especially from my mother).

As for the topic... I usually shower every day. When I was young, I showered maybe once a week... as I got into college I upped that to every 2-3 days, then every day starting about 4 years ago. The longest I feel comfortable w/o showering is probably about 3 days.

The longest I feel comfortable w/o showering is probably about 3 days.

laser hair removal.

(seriosuly folks, it's not as expensive as you'd think, requires only three treatments and it'll last for at least a year. call rennesaince laser hair removal in dallas, goddamn i listen to 105.3 too much, i'm fucking doing spots for their sponsors online in my goddamn posts now someone shoot me please)
