Japan's defense minister ordered the military to prepare to shoot down any debris that could fall on Japanese territory if a North Korean rocket launch fails, mobilizing interceptor missiles and sending two warships to the Sea of Japan.
...

North Korea has mounted a rocket on a launch pad on its northeast coast, American intelligence officials say, putting Pyongyang well on track for a launch the U.S. and South Korea warned Thursday would be a major provocation with serious consequences.

...

North Korea has warned it will retaliate against any country attempting to intercept the satellite.

Probably 3 weeks. It still depends on the Koreans, the Navy and Raytheon big shots wagging their dicks at each other. These asshats delay everything and then try to blame it on the engineers for being late.

I just brought some emails to a meeting where the program office was trying to blame our group for a late delivery. I got a team reward after that instead of a reprimand. Lots of intellectuals need to be more vocal.

So apparently they launched and nobody did anything. Looks like conflicting stories on what happened (whether or not there was a satellite)

s. korean news says it was a satellite...but it failed to orbit.

n. korea and russia said it's in orbit...go figure.

in other news, nobody in south korea gave a shit. everyone went to the cherry blossom festival. nothing new here.

we need to drop napalm all across north korea, iran, pakistan, afghanistan, then nuke russia, europe, and china, and just destroy the entire planet so that humans become extinct and are dead.

yes i'm in seoul. seriously though, koreans here aren't the least bit worried about this stuff.
they think its rather silly that the international community is talking it up so much.

honestly i've never been that worried about the situation, but if the north keeps talking about nuclear war like they did a couple days ago, then i'll have to consider my options. i hope they'd at least wait until july. thats my vacation.

and like always, nobody even talks about it here in the south. it's like no big deal.

they're way more concerned with the suicide of the last president. it's huge here.

i don't know

it's kind of strange when things like that happen to important people....you usually have to be strong willed to be in such a high leadership position like that

i think he was killed

nah, he was just a former president and not important anymore. no reason for anyone wanting to kill him. that and, suicide is still a culturally accepted way out when you're shamed and lose face, which was exactly what was happening to him. if he was found guilty of corruption charges he would've been disgraced and went to prison, but instead, he committed suicide and is now a hero...
