as soon as we manage to locate a decently priced 3-season (at least) tent large enough for everyone.

The one I originally wanted is sold out, but this one will work just as well (especially with the arctic lining). ...And we will most certainly need to take more than one vehicle for this trip, given the number of interested people. http://www.sportsmansguide.com/net/cb/cb.aspx?a=504816 Do ARMY surplus stores have stuff like that? You should look into it. Probably kinda hard to do that without a military installation close to you though. There are a bunch of them here. I would look for y'all, but shipping would be a bitch, so probably would make it not worth it.

There are a couple of pawn shops in town that specialize in army surplus, so I'll check those as well. -------------------- |

All I know is we can make plenty of usage of my trailers once you guys get up here for camping and/or buttfucking platforms or to transport lots of sex lube, but I can't really offer much until you guys get here unfortunatley -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

But, IMO, as far as tents go ..
For what you guys want and being even remotley affordable, your best bet is to start canvasing army/navy surplus stores and looking for wall tents. the kind the army uses you can put wood burning stoves in. The way oldschool WWII kind ... My uncle has one for hunting camp, works amazingly. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

Chris & I are thinking about hiking the Appalachian Trail for a week or so this summer. We really need to get some camping gear first, though...

personally I think you guys are going about this the wrong way.
Why do you want a tent that big? You guys should be getting wind-proof tents you can carry on backpacks then sleeping bags good to 40 below .... Who the fuck wants to pack a 3 room tent 10 miles into the wilderness? -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!

You guys should be getting wind-proof tents you can carry on backpacks then sleeping bags good to 40 below .... Who the fuck wants to pack a 3 room tent 10 miles into the wilderness? I can go either way, personally. I still want to pick up a base camp tent set-up (one we put together pretty close to where we drive in). As far as a wind-proof 4 season tent good for backpacking, I already have a couple in mind. QUOTE TRUE... but are you actually gonna be able to drop $500 on a tent? Here's how it'll play out: If we're using one big tent, it's going to be an actual military base-camp tent. I'm willing to pay for long-lasting proven quality. If we're just going for the nylon modern-tent thing, then we're using separate tents as we have done in the past. I just figured we'd use the big tent so we could put a stove in there for warmth...because I seem to remember a certain someone that sure did complain a lot the last time around... -------------------- |

whats sad is that i imagined you saying that in my head, with your voice, and without stuttering or getting tongue tied... LOL...I actually did say that exact quote out loud as soon as I read Dogmeat's post (without stuttering or pausing to think). I then waited 10 seconds...posted it...then realized how corrupted I am. heh -------------------- |
