i don't think it should be upgraded to a hate crime. it'll just open the door for every black person in the world to broadly interpret a hate crime.

The wording is vague. Were they fighting over a parking spot, as in who gets to park there? Or were they fighting over a parking spot, as in standing in the lot, towering over parking spots? The way I read it made me think the latter. If they are there to pick their kids up from school, then parking lot spaces are first come, first served, no?
