Can you actually be considered "gay" at that age? Homosexuals are defined as sexual attraction to the same sex, kindergartners are not sexually attracted to anyone. The only case I can sorta see some sort of validation is from the transsexual side. I watched this one documentary or whatever it was on this 2 or 3 year old boy who believe he should be female. Starting at kindergarten, his parents allowed him to dress like a girl. This doesn't really have much to do with sexuality (does it?). Anyway, I don't know. Actually, some sex education may be appropriate for kindergartners, when it comes to sexual predators and such, it could help tremendously -------------------- I go to the maize and blue

When my brother was like 3 years old, he wanted to be called a girl's name and liked the color pink a lot, and other stuff like that. A lot of young boys go through this phase if they grow up in a predominately female household. Come 5 years old, though, he was hitting on high school girls. The kid is now 15 and LOVES the ladies.

I think this kid is an only child. One thing they focused on was that he didn't like the male parts of his body and that he really like the mermaid for it's sexlessness (to some degree). The kid is now 6 or 7, that's when they did the interview. -------------------- I go to the maize and blue

I think everyone should learn to tollerate eachother, but accepting it is for each their own. This doesn't belong in the school.

Can't believe everyone missed this gem. i was thinking about making an off-color remark bitching about inferia "scaring away the fish" by educating the kids... but was too lazy to come up with a witty way of saying it. -------------------- |

The school knew they were in the wrong because they failed to inform parents either verbally or through school literature that "gay awareness" month was taking place. There's nothing wrong with teaching children to be tolerate of individuals of other lifestyles but as chuck said acceptance of said lifestyle is a completely different matter in my opinion. Parents are paying for the education of their children and must be informed of politically motivated initiatives such as this, Especially when children so young are targeted.
Californians are a bunch of freaks... -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?
