I'm finally getting around to working on our honeymoon scrapbook. We had a water camera and the pictures on it came out terrible! I was wondering if anyone would be nice enough to take a look at some of them and see if there's anything that can be done to make them look better? I'll post them here and then send you the files if you want to give it a shot.

PS - sorry they're so big! I don't want to resize them because I'll lose the quality (I'm going to wind up cropping/shrinking most of them)

It's not too hard to darken it, but it will get fairly blocky... is this the highest resolution you have them in? Was it a cell phone cam or disposable waterproof cam or something?

Waterproof camera. Yes that's the best I got. I could try to find the disc we got the camera printed to, but I uploaded them straight to Photobucket so there wouldn't be any difference I don't think.

If you darkened them and they became "blocky" would my shrinking them down help or hurt?

I guess water got inside the camera or something. The day was not at all hazy like all of the pictures seem to imply...

Well photobucket might have auto-sized them down, see if you can snag them off the actual CD.

here's a sample of a darkened one:

I'm fairly rudimentary as far as photoshop goes though so someone else could probably do better.

I don't see them getting much better. Darkening them will only do so much. They are still pretty good pics, though. I was expecting worse when reading your post (I have images turned off so I have to click to view).

Actually, the one that Chuck darkened looks way better when I shrink it to 50% smile.gif And I know I won't get perfection, it's just the ones I put here are the best off that stupid camera and as they are I wouldn't have wanted to put them in our scrapbook....

In hindsight, we should have spent the $$$ and bought the ones they took with a good camera...

Bride's parents pay for it right?

I need to start figuring out what girls' parents do for a living before dating them.

I don't know. The groom's parents may pay for that part. Bride's parents pay for the wedding. Groom's parents either pay for reception or honeymoon. I can't remember exactly.

play with the shadows and highlight portion under image >> adjustments in photoshop. that should help a little more.

I already did them all and sent them to her. I don't think much is going to cut through the fade/condensation/whatever was on the camera lens. I just did the auto-levels, manual color adjustments, and did a little bit of manual levels and brightness/contrast adjustments. Thanks for the suggestions though.
