Who ya got?

Lakers - Celtics

I'm already tired of Duncan and the Spurs flopping and bitching.

caught ball, moved left foot. moved right foot. shot. it's plain as day.

t-mac is playing his ass off. they're just extremely overmatched. i feel kinda bad for them.

edit: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5PDdb48g4_c :53ish

i'm surprised he didn't whine for a foul too. just like every other time he touches the ball.

Watch the slo-mo part. Now I see what you're talking about, but it still wasn't a travel. Start the video at 0:50. He was stepping into position, by your words: Moved left foot, caught ball, moved right foot, shoot. Basically he was already moving his left foot before he caught the ball.

And thanks for the Rockets sympathy sad.gif. T-mac does pretty well on the road so maybe they can at least avoid the broom.

his first move with his left foot happened before he had the ball though. he only moved one foot (his right) after he got the ball. although i imagine the extreme tim duncan hate might skip that part of the video wink.gif

LA had the best player in the league (Kobe), a deeper bench, and a much better coach than Boston in Phil Jackson. Additionally, LA cruised to the finals while Boston struggled through 7 game series with Atlanta and Cleveland, and 6 with Detroit. Since Boston had an older team, most people thought the Celtics would be worn out. Also LA had I think the best record in the laague after getting Gasol and were leading the league in PPG. Oh, and Boston only won one game on the road coming in to the finals.

It wasn't out of the question to think all those factos would equal LA winning in 5 games.

Boston's advantages couldn't really be quantified. They had three unselfish stars who had never won a championship and came to Boston with one goal in mind. Also, there was no way in hell Gasol was guarding Garnett. European big men are soft. Give me some guy who grew up playing extremely physical street ball in the hood of Chicago over some European who learned how to play the position in space (IE, with no one in his face guarding him, not literally in space)

Everything I heard/saw this season had Celtics winning it all. The East is the new West. It's obviously becoming a tougher division. Back like 4-8 seasons ago, the West was stronger without a doubt. The real competition was the Western Conference Finals. I mean, even last season this could be seen when the Spurs played the Cavs. I think if anyone was thinking that the Lakers were going to win the Championship, it's because they underestimated the competition in the East.

The East is the new West? Are you kidding? Three of the east playoff teams had records of .500 or below. The fourth seed in the east, Cleveland, wouldn't have even made the playoffs if they were in the west. The east is a subpar conference with two very good teams - Boston and Detroit. Same as it's been the last ten or so years

Everyone was predicting Boston to win at the beginning of the season. A lot of people changed their opinions when they Lakers got Gasol. I don't feel like looking up a bunch of columnists' playoff picks, but most picked LA to either win it all before the playoffs started or picked them when they reached the finals

Jessica, honestly, you're pullin this outta your ass. Just admit you were tryin to rile up conversation and made it up. Sacramento for cryin out loud would have made the playoffs in the East, and they were 38-44. The West as a whole is light years ahead of the East and there's nothing going on that will change that in the near future.

Just look at the numbers for each conference's playoff teams:

East vs West (with Boston & Detroit being the exception, not the rule)
Boston: 25-6
Detroit: 22-7
Orlando: 14-16
Cleveland: 17-13
Washington: 14-16
Toronto: 12-15
Philly: 15-15
ATL: 13-17

West vs East
LA: 20-10
NO: 22-11
SA: 24-7
Utah: 21-9
Hou: 22-8
Phx: 24-6
Dallas: 18-12
Denver: 19-10

yeah, I'm just bored. I haven't watched a single game this season or post season. I haven't watched basketball since the atrocity in the 2002 Western Conference Finals. That I'm being serious about. Hell, I keep forgetting that KG plays for the Celtics and not the Timberwolves. That's how behind I am.

well... i would say the west has more consistant teams ( ie lackers winning three championships in a row, and spurs bookending them on it) but really they are about even in the past ten years, with the east having one more championship because of Boston this year. Really, I would say that both sides are pretty even.

Comparing conferences by looking at championships is stupid... and even if it wasn't, you think 7-3 is even??

haha... I'm not saying I agree with him. I'm just pointing out that I guess that's what he meant by the East having more. tongue.gif
