No there is no negative option mad.gif. I do not make ATM runs or anything like that. I bet what I bring and that's it. My track record has been terrible the last 3-4 times out. I'll be playing mostly craps & blackjack, with a little 3 card poker, possibly some let-it-ride, etc etc. If you have any ideas of something new I should try, feel free to suggest. Laberge du Luc (the casino I'm going to) doesn't have poker yet so that's not an option. I will post the honest answer when I return on Sunday.

i just do blackjack and roulette.

do a few of your lucky numbers, and then do some on black/red and even/odd.

i went last weekend and the dealer hit 2 double zero's in a row...what are the chances.

Smartest thing I've ever heard you say.

That's where gambling becomes a problem for some people.

I've never once owed money or dipped in to any other savings due to gambling. Ever. That's why I've never really considered it a problem or threat.

woot I hope the person who voted > $1k is right!

I'm due up for a good run, and it seems like it's my lucky day. I got a callback from a potentially very nice upgrade in employment today, and found a $10 bill on the ground outside about 20 mins ago. I better go snag some lotto tix and throw down some 12 game parlays at sportsbook.com smile.gif

Oh, one more thing. Figure out a dollar amount that you'll be happy walking away with. I don't really play regular poker so I don't know what kind of cutoff percentage to use. For sports gambling I use 3x. If I start out the weekend with $500, and by mid saturday afternoon I'm up to $1500, I'm done gambling for the weekend. No sunday NFL bets or anything else.

I don't know what $600 means to you. You seem to imply it's pretty much petty cash for a weekend excursion, so it's probably not a big deal if you come away with $0 or $1000. Regardless, I'd set up a "walk away" figure of like $1200. If you end up doubling your money at any point in time, be satisfied and walk away. Don't be a dumbass and try to turn $1200 in to $2400 on one hand. Odds are much greater you'll turn $1200 in to $0 in the span of about 45 seconds. If you end up doubling your money, go rejoice, treat yourself to a nice filet mignon and a hooker. You'll still head home with what you came with, plus an extra bonus - a full tummy and VD

Funny sidestory- I managed to get myself permanently banned from playing poker at my house the first night I moved in. I don't play poker really so I guess I don't know etiquette. It was a $50 buy-in and the second I hit $100 I said I'm out, which pissed off the other 7 guys playing. Apparently you either lose everything or win everyone else's money. Sorry, I don't like those odds. Poker is worthless to me other than a way of making some cash, so I cashed out when I was ahead. Now I'm not allowed to play anymore mad.gif

lol yeah that will get you shot doin that. you gotta stay til the mutual quitting time wink.gif just play conservative once you're up if you're happy with what you got.

and yeah I don't really have a set amount I walk away with. I've gone gambling at least 20 or so times now, and yeah there's been times where'd I'd have walked out with more if I'd stopped, but eh it's no big deal. we'll be there til sunday so if I'm up 2 grand tonight, I'm sure as hell not stoppin smile.gif. might stash $1k or so away and start bettin big but def not stoppin.

oh and shoot man, lettin it ride is my game! just won $50 on a blackjack hand, let it ride! heheh. seriously, the only way to make money is to bet money. these chumps that walk in and throw down the minimum $5 every round of blackjack always wonder why they never bank with it. my system is, start at about $15 per hand, if I win a hand, add $5 to the bet for the next hand, rake in the rest, rinse, repeat, until I lose a hand, then reset it to $15. I tend to half hazardly count cards as well so I have a general idea of whats left in the shoe. if the shoe is startin to dry up I'll drop to the minimum for a few hands.

and $600, eh, it is a significant amount of money to me, but I can probably blow about $1k/mo and not get upset. I just bought a $500 digital camera, and I'm still going this weekend wink.gif

I thought L'auberge did have poker... or maybe that was me in my crazy blackjack blindedness. anyways, L'auberge will eat your money up if you don't play smart. Stay away from the drinks, I promise. I've won big and I've lost big there. I go about once a month or so with the fam, its like our bonding moment. Good luck! Its fun.

I hope you do well.

If you want poker, go to Coushatta.

yeah lauberge doesn't have poker yet, but is way closer, and definitely nicer than coushatta.

yeah we used to go to coushatta all the time before lauberge was built and did fairly well in some poker tourneys there (one tourney of about 150 my bud and I both made the final table, he got 2nd I got 6th). I still dig coushatta, but don't care to drive an extra hour to get there.

I've been to coushatta bout 10-15 times, lauberge about 6.

Look for Regis Philbin then. He will be there this weekend (this is what I do when I'm bored in the office... watch Regis and Kelly). L'auberge also has also opened up their new VIP check in. Its bad ass

Lucky bastard.

I'm only up $350 from betting on the games last night. At least that covers the cost of the fuel pump. Now all I gotta do is make $150 to cover the cost of some assjack dropping my iphone and cracking the fucking screen

Still works, the crack goes from the bottom silver edge to the bottom button, so I don't think it'll continue to mushroom and spread.

Just pisses me the fuck off. Someone else dropped it, before that someone spilled whisky on my roommate's laptop, before that some cunt threw her softball at my house and fucked up the siding

Of course all three I'll have to pay for. I'm sick of paying for other peoples' indiscretions and screwups

Awesome man. Congrats on the amazing return!

Thanks! It was mostly dumb luck but hell I'll take it. Was up $300 from blackjack friday night. Went saturday night and dropped $300 pretty quick, so just went walkin around for a while to slow it down. Sat a a wheel of fortune $1 slot (only slot I'll play), popped in $100, 30 mins later pulled $400 out. Figured cool, back up some but it's gettin a little late and my buddy had to get up early, so I went for my traditional "take $100 to the high limit slots before we leave" run. They had a $5 wheel of fortune slot so I hopped on that one, and it just kept payin and payin. I'd say, ok I'll stop if I drop back to $1000, and it'd get up over $2000 so now I'll stop at that, etc etc, finally it dropped back to $4000 on me so I quit. For those who have played that wheel of fortune slot and know what I'm talking about, I got to spin about 20 times in a span of about 30-40 mins.

This is awesome bc I need new tires but now it may be new wheels and tires smile.gif. W/the rest going to help pay off a CC.

Pimp.

Do yourself a favor and blow it all on luxuries. Big screen tv, the best porterhouse in town, new system for your truck, whatever.

Very few times in your life will you effectively be handed $3500 of tax free cash. If you have any concept of budgeting and money management (which I'm sure you do) this is basically "mad" money. It won't hurt you no matter what you blow it on. Treat yourself

Money should be spent in the same way it was earned. If you bust your ass from 8-5 every day your paycheck should go to necessities, then luxuries. If you go to Vegas for a weekend and luck in to $10k of winnings, blow that shit on coke and broads

Congratulations! haha it feels good doesn't it? My dad and I walk out like ballers some times. We get police escort and all. Although, we usually go gambling with one of his friends that takes a shit load of money with him and brings even more back.

But Congratulations! Blackjack is a sonofabitch sometimes. I hate that roller coaster.

A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

My buddy and I bet blackjack pretty big, otherwise it's boring IMHO. And usually we'll throw down a large bet just before we leave, and saturday night after I'd won that money I cashed it in and went to play blackjack some more with him, we got to our last bet and here's how it went down:

Table min was $25. I threw down $200 (last $200 I had in chips, was playin blacks), he threw down $150. Dealer deals me 5,6, deals him 9s. Dealer shows a 6. Friggin ideal time to double/split. So we both had to go diggin in our pockets for money to double/split with. another dude at the table doubled his $100 bet. I think the lowest bet on the table was $75. She deals me a 10 so I made 21 hallelujah. Deals my buddy to a 19 & 16 or something. dealer turns over a motherf'n FIVE, whole table had a collective "holy shit", then a 3, then a face. whole table went nuts. talk about rollercoaster laugh.gif
