wow, how wonderful of you, there's probably a few hundred people who died today and you're griping about gas prices.

you should kill yourself.

edit:

Ok earlier they didn't know if there were any casualties but I guess there was only one injury.

But regardless you should still kill yourself just cuz that'd be way punk.

Just making an observation. Excuse me for being honest.

Sucks for sure, but I highly doubt the price of gas will skyrocket.

Wow. I'm glad there weren't too many injuries. The other thing I'm worried about is that the refinery is pretty much central to Big Spring's economy. This may cause problems for them.

Yeah, I agree. I wonder if it was an orchestrated attack or just a random explosion.

I thought the big abandoned building is a little bit more important to their economy (Hotel Settles, I think). Imagine how many tourists they've gotten out of that!

it was probably done on purpose to reduce the already low number of oil refineries in the u.s.

Haven't heard anything about what caused it yet.

TetraGrammaton Cleric, were you in town when it happened?

The plant produces mostly emulsions and solvents, outputting only ~70,000 barrels of gas/diesel a day and serving mostly NM, TX, OK, and parts of AZ and MO.

I flew from Tucson to Dallas today and could see the refinary.
We had the Cat Cracker explode in Dumas in 2005 right before Katrina, part of why the gas prices rose, but mostly a panic thing.

Gas was 30 cents more/gal when i got some today.

From the flood of e-mails I've received this wasn't the cat cracker, which is good, as that probably would have been catastrophic.

About the terrorism... Alon is owned by an Israeli company. just adding fuel to the fire.

I think that increase is more due to oil hitting a new record ($101.27) than that plant blowing up.

Its def more of a panic than anything else that drives the prices up. Wonder if this will cause people to push for socialism like in the 1930s.

But we aren't starving.
