A buddy of mine is trying to get some partners/interns to help him with a company that he has run and wants to change the direction of.
He wants some marketing people and would like to approach different schools with the idea. Does anyone have any experience with how the internship offering works at Tech or other colleges? He would like to make it a paid internship but if possible, also get the student some class credit. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

Often the class-credit setups are called co-ops rather than internships, just FYI for him when he's talking to places.
Marketing at Tech: http://marketing.ba.ttu.edu/Internship.asp Engineering at Tech: http://www.depts.ttu.edu/coe/careers/students/co-op/ He should probably contact the specific departments at the colleges he wants to recruit from, possibly their career centers as well. But the departments should be able to give info on how companies can join up with their co-op program. -------------------- |

he can target organizations as opposed to departments as well. like the various marketing societies. all that would take is emailing the faculty advisor to start setting it up

At Texas State, you can just email the college advisers with the idea. They will probably send out emails to all the students in that major and tell them to contact your friend
so if I were your friend, I would go to university websites and look up the advisers email addresses and start working on a proposal to send them. |
