it's the crappy border. forget emphasising the persecution, and start working more on the deterant i'm all for the great wall of Texas EDIT:: i've kinda had to explain my feelings on this. the number one arguement against immigration today is that america it's self is founded on immigration. but people fail to realise a small detail. the immigrants of that time period were people that were willing to drop everything they knew and loved in search of a life where they can better themselves. Well, I don't think that children born in the US should automatically become citizens unless one or both of their parents is a citizen. Changing that little tiny detail would deter a LOT of illegal immigration. Illegal immigrants wouldn't be able to get free healthcare, welfare, etc. simply because of their rugrats.
However, I also support loosening the immigration laws. Make it easier for Hispanic (and other) families to come here legitimately. I think both the citizenship and immigration processes need to be streamlined. Regarding this specific legislation... ok fine, make it a felony to be here illegally, make employers actually check on the legal status of their workers. I'm fine with that, but placing requirements on CHURCHES? That's just fucking retarded. -------------------- |

meh, for as much as i want a closed border, many of the people born here are a bigger problem.
i drove through a neighborhood around 43rd and J the other day and discovered the projects; tract housing with 300 black people (kids included) standing around during the middle of the weekday. the non-project housing in that area was even funnier because the homes were the non-union mexican equivalent of tuff-sheds. at least all the mexicans standing around on 19th & Q on weekdays are in search of work. |

shit needs to be done not all, but A LOT of illegals feel like US citizen owe them some sort of gratitude. Like we should be happy they're here. Alot of people come over and work cheap., Which is understandable when the min wage in Juarez is like 4.75/day. So makeing 25/day for working your ass off for 8 hours seems like a deal. I have no problem with people wanting to come to this country. but shit, it is ILLEGAL. and there is a LEGAL process to get permanent residency here. It sucks you live in country that has potential to be wealthy but treats it's citizens like shit.
