Torrents
Just find a program like bitorrent or bitcomet then go to a torrent website, search, and download -------------------- "Ah, y'know it's funny, these people they go to sleep, they think everything's fine, everything's good. They wake up the next day and they're on fire."

Programs:
Bitcomet or uTorrent for Windows Azureus for Mac All three have selective downloading, so if you want the whole album you can grab that or choose just certain songs that are in the torrent. Sites: Mininova Pirate Bay If you're having trouble finding something, google "blah blah torrent" where "blah blah" is the artist/album/whatever. Yeah, it has that. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

You mean selecting single songs out of an album torrent? Yeah, it has that. Yeah, that's what I meant. Well weird, I guess they've updated since the reviews I read. Cool, I'll check it out! -------------------- |

uTorrent is the best. Too bad they don't have a Mac version.

its kinda hard to explain. think of it as a giant forum. people will post files and such, all hosted on the news server (which is why you have to pay). you can either search through specific groups (think forums again), or most of the time there is a tool that will auto-search all relevant groups for what you're looking for.

i've tried the newsgroup thing, fixed If you can type a keyword of what you want into a search engine, you can use newsgroups. Yes, the old way of subscribing to specific groups, downloading all the headers, etc, is a pain in the ass, but it doesn't work that way anymore. |

nice try, using newsgroups is like playing games on an atari, using an apple lisa for word processing, and an abacus for calculating
newsgroups are shittiest invention ever and needs to die already because they fucking suck, plus they cost money |

Oooh, I do like Transmission. It's a lot better than Azureus.
Probably nothing to do with the client, but my DL speeds are all over the place. I can get anywhere from 20 KB/s to 800+. On the same torrent, just depends when I happen to be looking at it. This post has been edited by Spectatrix: Jan 17 2008, 07:26 PM -------------------- |

Not I, good sir. So... Pebkac, Psykopath, or Watchman. Yeah, definately not me. The mod for the section. or anything. and that's what you get for not typing out simple words. it's a title. it's supposed to be descriptive, not cryptic. I clicked on the title expecting this to be a thread about DI.fm. -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

By the BS w/ Limewire do you mean all the "upgrade to pro version now" crap? Yup. I thought this was funny about limewire: QUOTE Searches for video files produce a file with a name consisting of whatever search terms were typed in followed by the phrase "cute girl has orgasm on webcam"; for example, a search for "farscape" would yield a file called "farscape cute girl has orgasm on webcam". Such files are 449.3 KB in size and normally come from hosts with IP addresses of 46.46.46.x, with x being a number from the low 80s to low 100s. The file can be downloaded and depicts a brief clip of a woman stripping. Another file, being 277.0 KB in size and having a title consisting of the search terms with nothing attached, can pop up as well, but attempts to download it inevitably produce a status of "Need More Sources".
