He said the session yielded valuable information and probably helped prevent attacks, but he now believes waterboarding is torture and "Americans are better than that." Pretty interesting. I didn't realize it was less than a minute. All I'd ever heard (admittedly from the media) is that waterboarding wasn't a reliable means of extracting information. This story would seem to contradict that. And destroying the tape to prevent retaliation against the interrogaters would seem to make sense. Although I'm sure some would cry that they're lying. |

why we even give a flying rat fuck about whether enemy interrogation techniques are humane or not is beyond me...
anyone who's graduated from sere school has endured much harsher treatment...at the hands of our own govt mind you. fags. |

i wouldnt trust information like that on something so controversial. its already been proven that little anecdotes were mad up in the past.

Well I think it'd be a little overboard if we were opening people up and showing them their guts or chopping off fingers or something, but 1 min of waterboarding with no permanent damage doesn't seem like a big dea.

sleep dep + stress positions is considerably worse than the waterboard. |

i believe they do do stress positions. which i can attest is not a good thing I HAVE PERMANENTLY SCREWED UP SHOULDERS!
