Yep.
http://finance.google.com It's so pretty. It's a little slow loading and has a few lag issues but overall it's pretty cool. Definitely provides data in a more convenient way than Yahoo (IMO). -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

is google such a bad thing? come on - they are developing new stuff and very good stuff all the time. Microsoft can't compete with their speed and effectiveness. I was talking to david about how they might be working towards an office package, which would rock considering how much office blows sometimes.

In my experience, Open Office blows. (So does MS Office, but OO is worse). I'd be interested to see what Google comes up with if they develop an office package.

Course then again, I like the Mac version of office MUCH better than the windows version. -------------------- Holy shit, pebkac, you're awesome! Office has gotten better over the years. I like WordPerfect better, but nobody uses it anymore. Boo. Over the past semester or so, I've started doing bigger word processing things in LaTeX. It's sweet, but has SUCH a steep learning curve! This post has been edited by Spectatrix: Mar 26 2006, 01:33 PM -------------------- |

There's also iWork for any Mac users. It's a bit.... different from Office though. Takes a bit of getting used to.

Have you all used the new version of OO yet? It's pretty sweet... The simple fact that you can print to PDF is the main reason I use it.
I also have it on a thumbdrive so I can take the Text application pretty much everywhere I go. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

What's wrong with MS Office? It's very powerful and can do anything you could think of doing in it, but because of this, it can be a bit complicated to learn.

Office is shitty because it puts a bunch of extra codes in your document that bloat the file size and can make it act screwy. WordPerfect is nice because it has the "reveal codes" function that allows you to look where problems are actually occuring and take out unnecessary crap if it gets in there somehow. -------------------- |

MS Office, Open Office, Wordperfect, Corel, etc they all do the same shit, in the same way. They simply save in a different file extension which is purposely made proprietary. It's like people who argue about what the best zip software or music player is. It doesn't matter. Use what you like. edit: and on topic... google made a stock searcher... is this some kinda revolutionary new product? |
