Ron Paul will never be nominated.

A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

Maybe.

Only if he runs.

i think america is more willing to have a woman president than a black one if it comes down to that. and if its between the two of them then thatll suck for democrats

well, right now it really looks like she'll get the democrat nomination. if the repub nominee is weak and ron paul goes independent, it may draw enough votes to allow her to get elected. i'm hoping fred thompson wins the repub nomination. if he does i think he can beat hilary. i don't think anyone else can. ron paul might be able to, but i doubt he'll win the repub nomination.

Fred Thompson...the actor?!

GREAT SCOTT!

I don't think he could beat Hilary. He doesn't have as strong of a following. And the fact that he has a penis won't be enough to beat Clinton.

On a side note: I personally still have no clear favorite that I want to see win. Meh, won't matter anyway until the nominees are officially announced.

well that's the way it seems for now, but the man just joined the race fairly recently, and I think that was a very smart move. If you look at obama, he entered the race really early and all his hoopla and support he had at first has died down. If Thompson plays his cards right he'll drum up a lot of support and build it up right up to election day.

and he has a lot of experience other than acting tongue.gif good pic though heheh

Argh, ok. I know this is going to come off as really whiny. But it's DemocratIC.. not Democrat Party. That really frustrates me when people say that, even Democrats. It's like a slap in the face when you call it the Democrat Party.

Ron Paul will run, I dont see any way he doesnt.

He will steal votes from the big candidates. I could even see him getting a few electoral votes

Do you think he will win individual states outright or just split some state's electoral votes?

he could win a state outright but it would have to be a small state.

I was thinking more along the lines of electoral voters dissenting and giving him a vote

When you say that he will get the "democrat nomination" that irks me. It's Democratic nomination. When you state that someone is a member of the Democratic party, sure, he's a Democrat. But not when you're mentioning the party.

Interesting article about Ron Paul from the Drudge:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/politics_..._5_mil_for.html

Cliff Notes:

QUOTE
Texas Congressman Ron Paul, an anti-war libertarian making his second run at the White House, will report having raised $5.08 million in the third quarter. The number, which rivals those of John McCain and Bill Richardson, was boosted thanks to last-minute online fundraising that brought in more than $1.2 million in the last week of the quarter alone.

Explain to me, though, how calling it the Democrat Party is a "slap in the face."

That's like me saying it's a slap in the face when someone spells my name with a C instead of a K.

i think there was a big ron paul rally in austin today

i met my brother and his girlfriend in austin, and they wanted to do some touristy stuff, so we went to the capitol building, and (among the 7 groups of mexicans taking quinceanera pictures) there were a ton of people with ron paul signs and shirts. he may have even been there.
