What things do people do that piss you off? You can use specific examples but try to make them things that are general so we can try not to do those things ourselves. I'll go first.
1. Jason and I went to a concert last weekend. We got there before the gates opened and once we got in, headed straight for the front of the SRO space to get a good spot/view. We all stand around for two more hours waiting for things to start. Halfway through the first band, this group of four comes through the crowd, like they're heading for a certain destination. I guess they say excuse me or something so we all try to make room so they can get by. But instead of passing, they stop and stand in the space that we just made for them. So I tap one guy on the shoulder and say "Are you guys planning on standing here the whole time? Because we got here early so we could get good seats, and I literally can't see over you." The guy basically was like "oh, we got here early too" and then turned around like it was my fault his spot wasn't saved for him. Later, the guy has the audacity to both flip me off and call me a bitch. The worst part is that he and his group spent more time leaning over to talk to each other, checking their cell phones, making phone calls, sending texts, etc. than they did watching the show. They take turns leaving, and then make it a point to elbow/shove us trying to weasel back through the crowds. Lesson: Plan accordingly for the things you want (such as a good seat/view) by arriving on time/early, just like the rest of us. And don't try to intentionally ruin someone else's (concert-going) experience just because they called you out for being a douche in the first place. 2. Jason's mom and aunt have been working hard to put together a wedding shower for us, which is taking place next weekend. They're taking care of everything from food to entertainment (all we know is when to be there) but they had us handle the invitations since we know who we wanted to be there and addresses and such. On the invites, it clearly says to call Jason's mom to RSVP by August 25 (yesterday.) We even emailed, facebooked and imed everyone reminding them to do so. Today we find out that literally half of our wedding party didn't even bother to call. 2a. Then when confronted, one of our guys says he didn't think the shower was a big deal worth asking off work for and then expects us to not be mad. Lesson: if you don't think it's important enough, fine. That's another issue to be dealt with separately (Lesson 2a I guess.) But please have the decency to RSVP, especially if it's something that a third party is going to the trouble/effort of setting up for us. Because that's not just poor prioritizing, it's being plain rude to the hostesses who were just trying to do something nice for us. I'm sure I'll think of something else, but those are the two main things bugging me right now. It's like people all of a sudden have stopped giving a flip about anyone else around them. Everyone stop being so damn selfish! -------------------- Forget regret

from my concert going experience, though mostly in small venues so i presume this is more important, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get a good spot. if theres a spot open ill take it.

-Lying
-Inconsiderate drivers -Taking advantage of another -Lack of consideration for one's environment (goes beyond the tree-hugger stuff...includes things like Impala mentioned-the smoking at an entrance, or other stuff like blaring music late at night, never cleaning up your messes, etc.) -------------------- |

You know what else pisses me off? When people post links to their own threads in another thread because "they had the idea first!"

I hate when girls feel entitled to run and cut in line for the bus because they assume I'm just going to stand there until they're all on the bus anyway. I also hate when I'm sitting on the bus and get dirty looks for not giving my seat to able-bodied women. next time that happens, tap on your leg and tell them you have a special seat in your lap, just for them |

Lately I've been trying to be nice and considerate to people even when they make me angry or just plain suck.
Last week I watched a woman cut three people in a Chick-fil-a line. What really gets my goat: People who speed on neighborhood roads or through streets (my g/f lives on Eldridge and it's a personal challenge just to get out of her complex). People who act like they are the only ones in the world when shopping. If the aisle you need to go down is full, leave your cart somewhere out of the way (no one's gonna steal your crap) and walk down there. Security lines at the airport. These are the stupidest wastes of time. Then there are the people who think they can sneak in a 5 oz. bottle of shampoo and end up holding up the entire line. Thank God IAH has an elite line. People who try to switch seats with me on airplanes. My reply, "it'll cost you $40". So you want me to move from my aisle seat in an exit row to your middle seat in the back of the plane.... ahhh... That sounds like a good idea. -------------------- "There is a level of cowardice lower than that of the conformist: that of the fashionable non-conformist." |

jackholes that take the last of the coffee and don't make more "because they don't know how". so they're either lazy or stupid. because you dump out the old filter, put a new one in, tear open the pre-measured bag of coffee, and press the f'n button.

I also hate when I'm sitting on the bus and get dirty looks for not giving my seat to able-bodied women. I'll agree with this. Reminds me of when I went to a Tech/Aggie game one year in College Station. My buddies (aggies) and I were taking the shuttle to the stadium (basically old yellow dog school buses) and we got on the bus, all sat down towards the back, etc. We were sitting there and some college age girls got on and came toward the back and stood there. Some 40ish dude in front of me turned around and commented that I should give up my seat for a lady because it's proper etiquette. Why the fuck couldn't he stand his lazy ass up and give up his seat?! All women should have equal rights......except when it doesn't suit their best interests. -------------------- LANCE IS PRO-CENSORSHIP! HE IS CENSORING MY LOVE FOR THE LORD!
