Ok, so my biggest pet peeve with iTunes is how it duplicates songs in my library (I add a song and it shows up twice for some bizarre reason). Does anyone know of any utilities to clean out my library?

I'm not sure about an application that will do that automatically. There is the "Show Duplicates" option in the view menu that will show all the tracks that are in your list more than once, but it just goes by name/artist so if there are say different remixes of a song you'll have to sort it out manually.
