I'm being bold by putting this in LRAR because I know that there are no rules as to what nature of content can be posted. But please refrain from NSFW stuff, because I really don't appreciate it.

That said, as many of you know, Jason and I are getting married. Having moved to Fort Worth after graduation last December, I'm still not really familiar with the area and all it has to offer (we live in Roanoke, close to Keller and Southlake. The wedding will be in Justin, which is kind of close to Denton.)

I'm hoping to get suggestions from you locals about some stuff. Any help you could offer would be appreciated. These are just some things that I haven't the resources to find out on my own.

I guess this is mostly for the ladies, but guys if you could ask your gals for help, too, that would be great.

I am looking for some professionals to do the following:

1. Wedding hair for me and two bridesmaids. I haven't even gotten a haircut since I've lived here, and don't really know how to find someone in this area that specializes less in cut and color and more in updos and formals. As a last ditch effort, I'll probably resort to Craigslist.

2. Wedding makeup for me and two bridesmaids. Last ditch I'll just have a friend paint me up.

(Note: both 1 and 2 would also require trial runs beforehand, preferably when I take my bridal portraits.)

3. A seamstress to alter my wedding dress. I ordered it online from a discount retailer, and though it's a brand new Alfred Angelo, the people at the actual AA won't touch it because I didn't buy from them. I'm looking for something more than just the corner dry cleaners.

Thanks in advance!

1) Don't laugh. There is an absolutely phenominal girl who does hair at Hulen Mall. Her name is Shanita and she works at Master Cuts. I drive up from Houston to have her cut and style my hair. She is always booked and I only get in whenever someone is a no-show. She can cut and updo you and your girls and it won't be crazy expensive.

She may have an answer for #2 and #3. My solution for #3 would involve seamstresses in Arlington in the very asiany areas.

I know a really good tailor/seamstress but shes in garland and that might be a little out of your range, but everytime I'm in there she always has several gowns she is working on and her prices seem reasonable. If you want her info just let me know.

Sure, Jimbo - that would be great smile.gif

I suppose I'd be willing to travel if the price/service was right

Learn to move threads! You left a copy in LRAR that's messing with my forum read/unread icon.
