when it came out...this dominated both the arcade and the NES. I do not have memory of a fighting game prior to this one. never since has one game had sole ownership of both platforms. there simply was no competition. for that reason, it gets my vote.
  if I were to play one now, I'm a fan of soul caliber 2. |

I still maintain that there is not a better fighting game platform than the dreamcast. My DOA2 skills never seemed to transfer that well from that system though :/.
