whats your favorite? I'm looking for something that would be kind of a notepad replacement. not too bulky, but maybe with some code highlighting and line numbers at least as well. i've used metapad for a while but i figure there's bound to be some better ones since 2002

I used NoteTab Light in my microprocessors class. It seemed pretty decent. Not sure what the non-free versions of it have extra. http://www.notetab.com/

context seems pretty cool so far. a little slower than i'd like but not bad

just loading up. i'm not sure if its some settings or what. it seems like it's attempting to parse up and color a file even if it's just a plain flat .txt file. it's not that bad though... it's like 5-6 seconds vs instantaneous w/notepad.
