Im proud of myself, dammit. I just installed new car stereo speakers all by myself. This included removing the window cranks, removing the door panels, making new screw holes in the speaker mounts, installing the speakers, and putting everything back together.
Anybody got anything that they did recently that they are proud of? Not sure if this belongs in the nerdery, but oh well.... I used the internet to help me so thats where the nerd part comes in. |

BS Pick up all the cards it's from an old dilbert comic. i tried using google to find it, but all i came up with was this (from the dilbert newsletter or something): QUOTE (DNRC) LUBBOCK, TX – Self-service gas station attendant Skip Munsey sold his soul to the devil today for a cookie. "I was hungry something fierce," the married father of six explained. "I probably should have thought it over. Maybe I could have eaten something from my lunch pail instead. I had options, but to be honest, I just wasn't thinking.
When asked about the transaction, Satan laughed and explained, "Yeah, sometimes it goes like that, real easy. On other days I have to throw in a bunch of extras. I was surprised he didn't put up more of a fight. The funny part is that I took the cookie from his own lunch pail." When asked about Mr. Munsey's fate in the afterlife, Satan insisted he hasn't given it much thought. "Lately we've been doing a lot of things involving rodents and lava. I think that might be a good fit." -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

i mounted the 32" LCD on the wall in my bedroom. nothin too fancy but there was an enormous stud where i was trying to run cable and had to drill a trench out of it to fish the cable. once i patch that up it should look sweet (no visible cables to the TV). i'll post a pic later
pics: the white cable is an HDMI (waiting for the longer one i ordered so i can run it through the wall), the speaker cable is the one i fished first so i could pull the others through. so i just gotta get that longer HDMI, run it, pull out the speaker cable then patch the wall. i'll prob find some small shelf or entertainment center or something to put the boxes on. ![]() ![]() heh, if only it were as easy as photoshop:

let's see...
Luke ROTJ Luke ANH or ESB (too far away to tell, possibly even Anakin ROTS, but I'm pretty sure it's not) Mace AOTC\ROTS (same saber) Vader ANH or ESB (too far away to tell again) If you don't have the anakin, I definately recommend getting it. It's only $79 at Frys right now, and it's the best weighted I've seen. The ROTS Obi-Wan is nice too, brighter than any other blue saber made so far by a LOT. Only thing I don't like about it is the black paint on the hilt flakes off if you don't baby it. I have both, looking to get a maul (both blades) and a QuiGon (probably released in 08). They're coming out with FX-Q's next year, vader and luke, with removable blades. oh and your tv is fine now that i get a better look at it -------------------- WAIT. I'm not finished.

used to have one of those 20"s, and two 17"s. well i'd quit gaming for a while and decided the two 17"s would serve me better at work. later i snagged the second identical 20". work people finally got me one LCD so I could bring one home, so I guess I could add one of the 17"s back, just don't see much reason to yet. if i get both 17"s back... heheh might have to go quads

eh the sword is ok. I mean it's 1) a real sword, and 2) singular. the armory of lightsaber replicas is what's seals the deal! From the look of the screened plaque, I would guess that the sword is Narsil, from Lord of the Rings. The unLimited Edition of Anduril came with a different plaque....and the one in the middle of my picture is the Limited Edition Anduril. (I have all of Aragorn's weapons....next I am getting Gandalf's white staff and Glamdring.) |

someone explain to me what the difference between anime and Final Fantasy is.... anime are japanese cartoons. final fantasy started as a video game series. final fanyasy 7 is one of the more popular ones. it even had a movie (cg) released as a follow up to the game. lots of men and womenfolks have hardons for sephiroth (asshat with long grey hair) -------------------- |

someone explain to me what the difference between anime and Final Fantasy is.... RPG video games vs. Animation -------------------- A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

but arent there video games based on Anime? Some, but they're still video games and not anime. Anime is Japanese animation, tv-aired cartoons. Video games are, well, video games! -------------------- |

but arent there video games based on Anime? there are, there are even anime based on video games. generally, the original is much better than the ripoff. and the games are generally consumed by mostly the solid fanbase. -------------------- |

Yes, I do mean Episode 2.....the VERY first FX lightsaber made by Master Replicas was Anakin's lightsaber from Episode 2. It was pretty limited numbers, and they kept pushing back the release over and over.....I ordered the bitch like 6 months before I actually got it. The first one required 6 AA batteries, and the blade was a little dull in color.
