I hope he takes it. Leach is a shitty coach. I might actually start cheering for Tech if he leaves

damn, Leach is awesome, guess thats why he wouldn't stay in lubbock... Hell if i were him i'd take my kick ass system to a grade A school.

Sucks, hopefully Tech would pick up a coach that would keep us competitive.

(If it happens of course)

Losing Leach would be horrible. His offense and his style is what attracts the recruits he gets, and if he leaves everything drops. They wouldn't be the same team, who is going to come play for some rebuilding team ? Especially with UT and OU always dominating that aspect, and A&M taking the rest.

I like Leach and his style, so IF he did go to UM, then I'd be interested in becoming a Miami fan. Call it what you will, but its that style and approach that I like, I'd prefer he stay and do his thing at TTU though.

I agree Rocky, we do well with what we get. There is a reason why we got interest in our O but not in our D.

i really like Leach I hope he stays, but like others have said it'd turn my opinion around of miami, i'd root for em smile.gif

if he did leave it'd totally break down tech and we'd be lucky to go .500 the next couple years.

I am having a hard time forming an opinion on this one. If Mike Leach is offered the job, he'd be dumb not to take it.

I can't decide whether I want him to get offered or not.

On one hand, it's hard to argue with what he's done in his seven seasons at Texas Tech. Then again, the Red Raiders' win-loss record during his tenure is not much better than it was in the five years prior to his hiring. He hasn't really come close to winning a division title and it's hard to argue with the mediocre results over the past season and a half.

I guess the biggest question is whether or not Tech can do better.

If Mack Brown -- and, now, Mike Gundy -- has tought us anything is that talent will eventually generate wins almost by default. There is no doubt in my mind that Leach is miles ahead of both of those guys when it comes to X's and O's but that's only part of being a head coach.

I think Leach's oblivious -- this word is no exaggeration -- attitude towards the defensive side of the ball has hurt Tech quite a bit and cost the team a few wins. He isn't a great recruiter and this weakness will be magnified even more now that co-offensive coordinator Sonny Dykes is apparently going to become the next offensive coordinator at Arizona. Dykes is the best recruiter on the staff and one of the best in the Big 12.

I enjoy watching his offense, I think he's a very interesting guy and I liked the hell out of covering him but I'm not sure I would be completely heartbroken to see him go.

My two dream candidates would be Art Briles and Rick Neuheisel.

Yea, if leach leaves our team's going to shit. Our defense did a lot better this year than it did last year. I dunno what happened to this season, we should have won a lot more games than we did; that loss to CU, OU, and UT sucked ass.

If Leach leaves, give Tech one or two seasons and then they will start making it happen. I say they will be better off without him. They need a coach that will bring in some new strategy and will try to run the ball a bit more.

You base this on what, exactly? Because the uniforms look better in a run-oriented offense?

no. their asses look better

either that or you cant throw the whole team on the QB's back because what if he gets injured? You think the backup QB will be able to waltz right in and pickup where the other one left off? Not likely.... Case and point McCoy and Sneed.
