hate the ipod?

check out one of these instead.

http://www.anythingbutipod.com/archives/20...ries-review.php

Mostly targeted at the Nano crowd, as far as high-capacity storage devices go, the ipod (60gb) is still relatively safe with few competitors.

(not what you expected from the thread? blow me.)

the ipod software and its fuzzy logic is quite amazing. It works quite well and is way better than the dell dj that is its mainstream competetor.

you have to send your ipod back to apple to get the batteries replaced... and you don't even get the same ipod back, you get a refurbished one back... so if you had any engravings on it then you're just shit out of luck

Where did you hear that?

You get the exact same iPod back....

no there are places online where you can buy your own batteries and do it yourself. you can also take it to some 3rd part repair places and they'll do it for you

yeah...i received the mailings from the class action lawsuit against apple for the 3rd gen battery defects...

people were sending in their personally engraved ipods and getting refurbed ones back...that's actually what fueled the lawsuit

as for my 3rd generation ipod? it makes a great coaster

Same storage and technical specs as the "M" but with a bigger screen, built in speakers, a smartcard slot, and an optional expanded battery attachment to increase the life of your player (possibility of swapping out batteries)

a couple of months ago i was seriously going to get a creative, but their website had about 20 different mp3 players but didn't include the specs... like if the internal storage was flash or a hard drive... i wanted a flash one since i run alot, in addition to that i couldn't distinguish why one model was better than the other without the specs

since creative failed to put the complete specs on their website i ended up selling my soul to apple and getting an ipod shuffle

for my next mp3 player if creative decides to inform the consumer of the specs on their mp3 player then i'll definately consider getting a creative

It tracks what you listen to more often and plays them more, I really like the software, hardware is another story.

If I ever got an ipod for free... I would sell it. Whats great is I work at a retail store again so I get $$$ off on mp3 players. Sometimes they hand out free stuff too. Like a month before I started there, everyone got a free ipod.
