QUOTE
House Speaker Nancy Pelosi has a message for Rep. Sheila Jackson-Lee: Beat It.

The Texas congresswoman — who held aloft her copy of a proposed House resolution honoring Michael Jackson at the King of Pop's L.A. memorial service — won't get her wish, the speaker just told reporters at her weekly press conference.

All I can say is "Thank you Pelosi!".

I don't know what Congress' infatuation with honoring someone immediately after their death. Remember when Reagan died and there was talk about putting him on currency?! I think there should be a waiting period after the death so that people can get their emotions in check before putting out these ridiculous bills.

This thread offends me...

Why?

Because Pelosi may have said something decent for once (on a very minor issue, mind you), but I personally feel Pelosi is one of the worst people to ever serve a government position in our country. Words cannot describe my hatred for that snake.

Another interesting dumbass democrat quote from just the other day: Harry Reid says he doesn't want another stimulus bill. I wonder if conservative shapeshifters have taken over their bodies or something.

I am no Pelosi cheerleader but I think we need to look at each issue that people stand for or against and recognize the good ones, even if we're not fans of the person.

so are you really saying that the government should spend time debating a resolution (which does nothing) instead of important legislation that might affect us?

I think resolutions are useless and every Speaker should deny to put them on the docket regardless of who they are for. If they have time to debate resolutions then they are not doing their constituents any good.

No. I am simply replying to Jessica. I do not like Pelosi either but it is a good thing that she knocked this kind of resolution to the curb, even if I disagree with her on other issues.

Resolutions like these are completely frivolous and do nothing for the good of the people, hence the reason I said Pelosi did something right.

Yeah but what you failed to realize dude, is that there is no gray area on this message board. You've now officially been pinned a Pelosi lover.
