Bought it Friday.
Was glued to it until I beat it saturday night. To sum it up .... Starcraft with Halo units. I mean it quite literally was StarCraft with Warhogs....heh .. But, even with that said, I don't think this was necessarily a bad thing, because Bungie (Ensamble Studios?) did an EXCELLENT job making this game playable. What I mean is, every other RTS game I've ever played on a console has flat out %100 sucked cock becaus the control was so mindless and stupid it just sucked, the camera angles were wrong, and basically just played like total shit .... leading me to believe it was impossible to do a good RTS game on a console. However, Halo Wars changed that belief. They did a very good job making this game playable and non-frustrating to play. Selecting units, while I though lacked some flexibility, really was as good as it gets without a mouse ... . Quite frankly, this IS your stereotypical RTS game .... i mean really, the resource system of the game is identical to that of the Dawn of War games. You don't need peons or bots to harvest shit then have to deal with them getting attacked, you just have time-based requisition based on how many supply depos you ahve, so that part of it is automated letting you focus on combat which is nice... I mean like I said, as far as RTS games go, it's nothing new. What is new, at least as far as I can tell, is this is the first RTS game that actuall plays like an RTS game that has been released on Xbox 360 or any other console for that matter. I haven't gotten to play it online too much, but I am looking to start. -------------------- I r Ur Gawd!
