Long story short. My ex was living with me. A few nights ago she was on the phone with someone and was bitching about my roommate and he heard her. He told her to shut her fucking mouth and talk to him if she has a problem. Then she threatened to key his truck. Then he called the cops. He comes in at like 2 in the morning (I'd been asleep since 11) and told me the cops were here. I get up, listen to both of em bitch at each other, my roommate told her she needed to get out of the house, the cop told her she needed to leave, blah blah blah. She packed her shit up and moved out. I wasn't really paying attention to her getting her stuff cause I was shooting the shit with the cop.
This afternoon I decided to go to the range so I grabbed my SKS and AR-15 I noticed my Glock .40 was missing. It's been in my closet along with the rest of my arsenal since the day I moved in. The only person who knew I had firearms in the house was my roommate, who has a shit ton of his own Who do I call to report a stolen firearm? ATF? The cops? Who stole it (even though it's obvious) or replacing it isn't important. The fact that a gun registered in my name is now missing is what scares the living shit out of me. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

I would call the non-emergency police number and ask how you go about reporting a missing weapon. Say you believe it was stolen. Look around some more though. You probably just misplaced it.

Just saying. I know I had a penchant for misplacing baseball cards and shit when we lived together. This is a bit different. I'm extremely paranoid about guns and losing them -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

well, that's not good. Convenient that she took the registered gun... or you'd be up shit creek. Firearms sold at gun shows by private sellers (ie people who don't have a retail sales license) don't have to screw around with Brady Bill forms. And no, I wouldn't be up shit creek if she stole a non registered gun. It's still registered to the last person who purchased it, so Joe Blow at the Erwin Gun show would be facing homicide charges if it was used to commit a murder. -------------------- ![]() ![]() |

What's the point of registering a gun then? Why would Will have to hide his guns? And wouldn't there be stricter gun laws than that?

What's the point of registering a gun then? to be a "responsible" citizen and give big brother information about who can defend themselves or not (as much as i dont go for most conspiracies, that is one that does really bother me). Supposedly it was to help keep gun merchants from being able to sell weapons to certain people (cause felons are not allowed to purchase fire-arms). -------------------- Brandon....you're the reason I'm pro-choice.

Dumbest thing ever. I think all guns should be registered. if laws were there to make sense i would in many aspects agree..... the problem comes when you realize the only people whose firearms are registered are good lawbiding citizens. a criminal knows how to alter their firearm (file off numbers, modify to make a semi auto an automatic, etc). Then it sort of takes the point out of it. -------------------- Brandon....you're the reason I'm pro-choice.

Dumbest thing ever. I think all guns should be registered. um... all guns ARE registered (if not then IS a crime), but they don't have to be RE-registered by every owner. The point is that when the gun is SOLD a background check is done by the gun store, then that owner is liable for where that gun goes after that. Not having to re-register helps prevent the Gov. from knowing where every gun is (and thus coming to take them away). Other states require re-registering, but not Texas -------------------- |

I had a night with the cops last night too.
A group of us were coming back from Drink Houston (a night club similar to Graham Central Station, but in my opinion a little better), when I hear this girl scream (stop it! please stop!) and see a couple of shadows in the road scuffling about. We had to slow down to avoid hitting them and get around them. Well, me and tami were in one car and we had a guy friend and 3 girls in the other car following us since he didn't know the area. I take a U-turn and ask if everything is ok, to try to mediate the situation. The girl runs to the passenger side of the car and the guy starts yelling at her through my window. He starts saying stuff like "Bitch give me my keys. I'm a psycho, bitch. I am manic depressent and I'm going to kill you bitch if you don't give me back my keys". She's screaming and crying and telling us he's beating her and to help her get away from him and hops in to the back! (I have a four door explorer). Apparently, she had been driving, and he (her husband) started beating her in the car. She stops in the middle of the street, takes the keys, she tries to run from him and he starts chasing her around in the street. So I take off and this girl is in the back seat crying and begging us to take her somewhere. Well, tami calls 9-1-1, we pull over and within 1 minute we have two cops with us. The group following us pulls over, and some of the girls get out and try to comfort the girl. They had called 9-1-1 also, and it turns out another truck of two guys tried to help, but when they tried to call 9-1-1 the guy starting punching the driver, so they took off. Well, within a few more minutes, the whole area is surrounded by cops (I guess that's what happens when three different people call 9-1-1 for the same situation!). There were probably 6 or 7 cop cars in the area. After about 30 minutes, we were allowed to go about our business. Silly mexicans! -------------------- ![]() |
