as far as donating to Texas Tech... you are right. I havent donated shit, but I also feel that I didnt get my 30,000 dollars worth. The education sucked (and before you start talking shit about philosophy... i had 4 majors before that and i left the dept because of the poor excuse for an education). I dont feel that I need to give this shitty excuse for a school anymore of my fucking money, but dont think that I dont donate money to causes I believe in. I donate money to the Red Cross all the time.

I'm not getting "butt hurt" and I'm not a fan of Bob Knight. I just realize that he is a good coach and has made our program better. So what if we haven't been to the final four, our team wasn't that good to begin with, progress takes time. Just because we haven't been to the final four in the past few years doesn't mean we suck as a program.

I'm just smart enough to realize when people are good at what they do whether I like them or not. You're basing his coaching ability on the fact that you just don't like him.

Bobby Knight, three-time National Championship winner and the coach with the best winning percentage in all of college basketball history, was fired today from his position as head coach of the Indiana University's Men's Basketball team.

University president Myles Brand, who announced the firing at a news conference, called Knight "defiant and hostile" and said the coach had shown a "continued unwillingness" to work within guidelines of the athletic department. There are 65 teams invited each year to the NCAA Tournament and another 40 to the NIT... while that may seem like quite a bit, keep in mind there are 327 Division 1 basketball programs in the nation. Less than a third of D1 basketball teams go on to post-season play. Compare that to the NBA where 16 of 30 teams go on to the playoffs, or college football where nearly half (47%) of the 119 D1A teams (56) go on to play in bowls.

So yeah, definitely not a weak argument.

i just dont know how much reliability sites with names like dailyhaha and goofball can have. i did watch the video and i know that was him, so im not denying it happened and im not saying its just a lookalike or anything like that. but part of it is also the selective editing. pretty much anybody can be made to look like a horrible person if enough spin is put on any situation. im sure there are just as many things hes done or said that could make him look like the next mother teresa.

The publicity helps Texas TECH out a lot also, just having Bobby Knight here helps

Its not a big suprise that TECH is known for its sports, the market research that has been done proves that. . .however most schools are noted for that, only schools like harvard and stanford are none for their academics

You can call me all the junior high names you want. But to say Bob Knight's done nothing for Tech Basketball is just plain ignorant. He's been here what, five years? And so far only he's the only Tech coach to have 4 straight 20+ win seasons, has had 2 NCAA, 2 NIT appearances (one of which went to the finals), and has taken them to the sweet 16. Dickey got to the 16 once in ten years, and that was with a hell of a talented team.

And that's just basketball. He's brought more media attention to Tech than we've ever had. We've had more games televised than ever, hell we've had an entire 6 part series on national TV showing off the campus.

It's ok though, I don't expect logic to come into play. All I really expect is more pointless one sided hatred for no reason.
