Some jackass burned down the governor's mansion. I'm sure it's some dumbfuck who hates Perry or something, but that building has been home to every Texas governor since the mid 1800's and it's a historical landmark

1856 to be exact.
And it's not burned DOWN technically... it's just pretty much completely destroyed. The Austin American-Statesman's website has some really good photos of the damage. CNN finally posted a video, and it's been on Yahoo's homepage all day. |

it is the oldest continuously habited building west of the mississippi. From what I have heard the building is salvageable and since the building was under renovations there was nothing historical inside to be harmed. Also there is supposedly surveillance footage of the arson.
