I was just about to post something to this affect when I saw your post so I thought I'd reply. I watched this video by Lawrence Lessig and something struck me, the main points are moral courage and inspiration. Then I thought to myself, who cares about either of those things? Is moral courage (which I don't even understand) the ability to not have your intern go down on you? And inspiration? The president isn't supposed to be a painter or photographer, he/she is supposed to lead a country. If I want inspiration I'll go read Be a Better Man or something

It seems as though people want to feel good and it doesn't matter the actual issues behind the scenes. This and the fact that the democratic platform is now firmly social collectivism scare the hell out of me.

The concept of individualism is still a strong point in this country which is why people who want our government to know everything about us yet don't want social intervention confuse me (as do their exact opposites).

Clinton thinks that sexual/violent video games are a moral travesty and reminded me strongly of Jack Thompson back when she was commenting on GTA: San Andreas. Based on this alone, I don't think any self-respecting gamer should vote for her.

Free market. Barack has spoken in favor of the free market, Hillary has spoken against it.

Abstinence-only sex education. Clinton says the jury is still out on them, Obama believes that the federal government should stop funding such programs and should concentrate on comprehensive sex ed instead.

Warrantless wiretaps. Obama opposes them, Clinton supports them (at least in limited situations).

I think they have a good reason to vote for him. One of the big reasons why the things people are saying are fluffy is because the Obama and Clinton platforms are not that different, unlike the republican candidates. I think once the candidates are selected, the people who call in will have less fluffy reasons.
