Paris Hilton Lost Her $60 Million Inheritance

http://www.news.com.au/story/0,23599,22157708-2,00.html

QUOTE
PARTY princess Paris Hilton is $60 million out of pocket after her billionaire grandfather - appalled by her jail term for drink-driving offences - axed her inheritance.

The money will go to the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, the charity set up in the name of the founder of the family business.

who was the fancy divorcee that claimed she couldnt survive on less than 50k a day? it was possibly heather mills. 60 million to some people isnt as much as it would seem to us when their perspective is so far up their own ass

50k/day = 18.25 million per year, so yeah 60 mill is still a significant figure even for these people.

with those numbers, that 60 million would only last her for 3 years. so yeah, not that much to her probably in the long run.

I suppose I better write out every math formula from now on so you guys can follow.

$1,000/month.
3 years = 36 months
36 x 1000 = 36000

Are you all just messing with Impala or are you really not following what he's saying? Because if you are following what he's saying I'm not sure how you can disagree that 60 million is a lot of money, even for someone who spends 50k a day. Because it seems to scale appropriately.

In reply to Impala's question about losing $36K: It would have zero impact because the $1K a month that you're currently living on is what you already have; the $36K is what you would inherit later on down the road. Same with Paris, the money she spends like crazy now is what she has now; that $60M is what she would have gotten later - can't lose what you never really had.

I think that's what impala is trying to compare it to. If you live on 1000 a month and then you were told you are not going to inherit $36,000 you had been planning on, that's a pretty big sum. He's trying to put it in context, even though I doubt that paris hilton makes $18,000 a year. Here parents might, but she probably doesn't have a net worth of anything over $10 million. I'd be shocked if she did.

THis thread confuses the hell out of me. Anyways, all I have to say on this issue is that with more money comes more bills. $60 million is a lot of money no matter how you slice it. I mean, I dont think Paris is a billionaire. Lets just say that she has like $700 million, $60 million is a huge chunk of money... So yeah, you cant think of that money in terms of you and me. Im sure she is upset about it. Her popularity won't last her forever. She doesn't really do much except stand there and attempt to look pretty. Not sure if Im making any sense

we're not talking about whether you can live off of $x, we're talking about what amount of money is significant to certain people. If you went over to the phillipines with your salary of $40,000 US you're treated like a millionaire.

ok James is $0.01 significant to you? If someone gave you $0.01, would that make a wealth of difference in your life? no. if someone gave you $100,000 it probably would. it's about the amount of money that is significant to your lifestyle.

so if $10 was nothing to you, that means $600 wouldn't mean anything to you either?

let me ask you guys this:

What amount of money do you think IS significant to Paris Hilton? $100 million? $500 million? $1 billion? $10 billion??

Uhh...yeah. We are talking about gifts. The entire point of the thread was that she's not going to get an inheritance. Since the old man isn't dead, she never really had it anyway.

There is such a thing as a saturation point and anything else is simply oversaturation. Paris just happens to live beyond the saturation point and anything else will be oversaturation. I don't think any amount would be significant.

she's not using that 60 million right now because she hasn't recieved it. her lifestyle is unaltered because she lost the inheritance, dumbass.

yeah, because there's so much logic in saying 60 million dollars isn't significant to someone.

Where did I say $60M isn't significant to someone? I said it's not significant to Paris Hilton and, not sure if I actually said this, but I am now, that it's not significant to me. For some - Paris Hilton - it's just a drop in the bucket; for others - me - materialism isn't a goal in their life.

but that's exactly what i've been arguing this whole time! it is not just a drop in the bucket for paris hilton.

Yeah, you're right. It's not a drop in the bucket. It'll never even make it to the bucket.

But had it made it to the bucket, you're wrong, it would have been insignificant.

Agree to disagree.

Ok then if I'm wrong and 60 million is a drop in the bucket for her, then you must be able to tell me the amount that is significant to her. What is it? 100 million? 500 million? 1 billion? how much then?

so if I'm the dumb one and you're apparently so smart, how come you can't answer my simple question: What amount of money would be significant to Paris Hilton?

i didn't bother to answer your question because it is a stupid question. how the hell am i suppose to judge what he concept of the value of money is? it doesn't matter is she just goes "meh" and lives life like normal, or if she's rolling around on the floor in a fit of rage and agony. her current money situation hasn't changed. i'd be pissed for losing 60 million. but then again, i'd be pissed for losing $5.

getting cut out of the will is significant regardless the amount of money. It's a "you loose" statement, and most people don't like it.

it's pretty easy to judge. like someone said, some other celeb claimed to not be able to live on less than $50,000/day. $60 million is 3.3% of Hilton Hotel's gross profits for last year (1.8 billion). I don't see how anyone could conclude, given these facts, that 60 million dollars is insignificant to Paris Hilton.

Money doesn't matter to those who don't have any. James, I promise your perspective is much different than Paris Hilton's.

I beg to differ. I think money matters just as much if not more to poor people as it does to rich people, only in a vastly different way (paying for electricity versus buying a new Mercedes)...

no... you aren't listening, as usual.

she's not using that 60 million right now because she hasn't recieved it. her lifestyle is unaltered because she lost the inheritance, dumbass.
she has alot more money than that 60 million. enough money that she can spend 50k a day. she will still be able to spend 50k a day. is any of this making sense to you? you dumb illiterate fat hunk of fatty fat fat?

How is her lifestyle unaltered if she's known as a billionaire heiress and this changes her to neither an heiress or the heir to a billionaire's fortune? His point is that the was supposed to inherit 60 million and now she's not, that's a pretty big deal and a lot of money. Her dad is worth $300 million, so I bet that Paris is worth chump change compared to him. Where is her source of income? Her crappy records that don't sell, her reality show that's discontinued, or her clothing line that nets her 250k a year?

And where the fuck do you people get this 50k a day that she's spending? Maybe you're the dumb illiterate fat hunk of fatty fat fat that can't read because nobody said Paris spends 50k a day....

QUOTE (Testm0nkey @ Aug 6 2007, 12:33 PM) *
who was the fancy divorcee that claimed she couldnt survive on less than 50k a day? it was possibly heather mills. 60 million to some people isnt as much as it would seem to us when their perspective is so far up their own ass

Oh, and to answer Impala's question: Nobody on these boards knows how much money is significant to Paris Hilton because nobody is Paris Hilton. Now give up your stupid questioning and your "I'm right!" celebratory masturbation.

The truth is that no amount of money is probably significant to her because other people will always pay for everything for her.

bingo

for poor people they get to improve their life...

for rich people...they have to maintain it...all those properties and boats and shit they own they have to pay taxes, maintenance, etc.

none. money is not significant to her. not the way she spends it. celebrities that squander like that place no significance on the value of a dollar.

it's amazing to me how these threads turn out with such idiotic conclusions. we have had at least 3-4 people come out of this thread saying that money is not significant to Paris Hilton. I'm baffled.

"Hey Paris, I'd like to give you eleventy billion dollars"

"no thanks Chuck, money is not significant to me"

I think money is important to her, but no amount is probably significant. She would have to have a concept of money for any amount to be significant. Stop trying to declare yourself the THREAD WINNAR over something that you cannot prove one way or another.

How can something be important but not significant?

I give up. You guys go on either A) really believing 500 trillion dollars would not be significant to Paris Hilton or B) not admitting that what you're saying sounds preposterous.

I was watching the news and they reported that after she got out of jail she was offered something like $1.2 million dollars for appearances at some parties.
