Here is a place to discuss your opinions on upcoming movies. When the movie actually comes out and people have a chance to say what they think about the flick post-viewing, then i think it will be ok to make a separate thread for the movie.
And if you are going to whine about movies, and let me be the first to call myself a harsh critic, then i suggest you back up your claims with some sort of support. initally i would like to mention that ultraviolet looks neat. made by kurt wimmer (equilibrium). my roommate pointed out that he was sort of tired of seeing female action leads, but he is not a big fan of action movies in general. i, however, think i like movies more if they have female leads, especially action movies. (underworld, kill bill, pee-wee's big adventure, etc.) |

I had the opportunity to see a screening of a documentary that will be released to some theaters in about a month. It's called Unknown White Male, and it's a true account of this British guy in New York who just woke up one day with complete amnesia, in a subway rolling toward Coney Island. He had no idea who he was or anything. It was an interesting film to see, at points very fascinating. Based on what happened to this guy, it poses the troubling question of whether or not a person's identity/personality is constant and independent of his environment and social climate. The director was there and held a Q&A session which was pretty cool. The writer/director of the movie is one of the real life friends of the guy who got amnesia. Check to see if it comes to Lubbock.

just looked at Apple webpage and saw these
The Wild -another Madagascar with animals from a zoo. blah blah new idea please A Scanner Darkly -Keanu Reeves acting weird and seems strung out on drugs again. Oh well, looks interesting and I like the concept of the animation. Stay Alive -Looks OK I guess but I think the premise is actually stupid. Good Luck Frankie Muniz Art School Confidential -John Malkovich is amazing and this looks like a great movie. I hope they get high alot in this film. -------------------- ![]() |

Stick It: I think this will be cute, for some reason. Or it could just be the same-ol', same-ol' rebellious teen redefining a sport thing.
Superman Returns: God, tell me I'm not the only person who thinks this is gonna suck... Kinky Boots: At the very least, the title is awesome. ![]() Little Miss Sunshine: What can I say -- I'm a sucker for Sundance Film Festival flicks. Plus it has Steve Carrell in it, so it can't be all bad, right? The little girl looks like she's gonna piss herself when she's listening to the answering machine, though. Dude, I'm fucking PUMPED for Superman Returns... As a kid, I was always into Superman. Never really read the comics, but I loved Superman: The Movie (1978) and playing with the action figures.
The way the trailer was made, with the Marlon Brando voiceover, gives me great hope. |

Rob Zombie to do new Halloween
http://movies.yahoo.com/mv/news/va/2006060...4949502600.html QUOTE Rocker-turned-filmmaker Rob Zombie is resurrecting Michael Myers, one of the big screen's favorite horror villains.
Zombie will write and direct a new "Halloween" movie, serving up what is being called as a brand-new vision for the long-running horror series. He will also serve as a producer and a music supervisor on the film. An October 2007 release is being planned. Disney's Miramax Films will co-finance the development with former Miramax chiefs Bob and Harvey Weinstein's Dimension Films. -------------------- |

i hope rocky dies or at least loses.
why? cause it would be a perfect ending the series. the first rocky was great cause he lost to apollo. the hype & expectation of the movie wasn't met. everyone thought he was going to win but all he wanted was to show he could last til the end and that's all that happened. -------------------- |

if a black person ever gets upset for your use of the word "niggardly" you should slap them with a dictionary

I'm waiting for the official word (HIRE MARK HAMMIL! =P ) These ARE the same people who first had it that Brandon Routh was Superman. And no, it was never Crispin Glover, everyone just wanted it to be Crispin Glover. Nolan has already said he was not going to use Hamil because he wants to do something different with the role. -------------------- ![]() |

Mark Hamill might make a good Joker. He's to the whole crazy lunatic thing down. I don't know if he could play the role dark enough though.

Hmmm, yeah....read more on the Heath Ledger = Joker stuff. Pretty much confirmed (and the storyline for the next two films seems quite cool).
I think he has the grin for the part...but I must hear his screen test to see if he has the LAUGH! ---------------------- In other news (don't know if this trailer has been posted yet): TMNT -------------------- |
