or i can get a new nissan vehicle for nothing down and probably keep the same monthly payments

i think i got a pretty damn good deal and so does just about everyone i talked to

It helped that I went on the last day of the month at 6:00 pm.... so basically, they were trying to hand me the vehicle so they could get another sale in before month's end. It was a dealership here in Austin. I went over the lease for the most part. I havent sat down and read the whole thing yet, but so far so good. Maybe I'll scan the sucker in and if any of you dont mind reading it, that would be cool.

Ethanol being better for the environment is a myth. It's basically a way to keep American farmers in business....which I'm not saying is a bad thing, I'm just saying that the truth about ethanol is that it doesn't work near as well as gasoline, it's ultimatley not any more "environmentally friendly", and it's not cheaper either .... but it does keep corn farmers from going bankrupt. heh

That I can agree with. I have a sneaky suspicion that 7-speed auto is a bit too complex for it's own good. Hopefully I'm wrong, because if it's bulletproof enough we could see them start showing up in other cars more often.

All the pesticides which are required to grow the massive crops we have today are made from petro. No petro, crops get smaller, less fuel, more demand... diminishing returns.

Largely oil is used to create a lot of the alternative fuels, its just that we hope the alternatives will be able to work on their own before oil can't be used to help them get established. Right now oil is running out faster than alternatives are being built.

Exactly, and if you're going to fucking power hundreds of millions of vehicles with corn essentially, you're going to have to fucking turn every square inch of this country into a corn field. And then, you're going to burn even MORE diesel to harvest and produce it, unless you can do the whole "biodiesel" thing ... which from what I can tell is still not that viable. It isn't a far stretch to question this at all, it's the same damned thing as thinking you're going to save the world by burning more coal to produce hydrogen.

its rainy here, but the garage was pretty dry. It was my own stupidity. I didnt know which exit to take out of the garage. Made up my mind at the last second so went into the exit sharply. Inserted the ticket to exit, and when I accelerated I hit this yellow guard pole. There are some pretty bad scratches

Ive been driving since I was 15... that includes trucks. I have never hit anything...never been in an accident. Shit happens. Just because some girls cant drive trucks doesnt mean that all girls cant. I can drive a truck just fine. I just fucked up. Shit happens. The damage isnt that bad. Probably will cost about $500 to fix. Better a stationary pole in a parking garage than a moving vehicle on the highway. I just have to be more careful.

right, but that's also the reason why the idiotic women do it too. They think to themselves, "Gee, I've been in alot of wrecks, maybe if I get a truck I won't get as hurt when I get in a wreck!" My point is, that I don't like trucks or suvs, they use alot of fuel, and they are too often bought for drivers who are ill-trained to handle them, i.e. teenagers, soccer moms, elderly drivers and sorority girls who like to talk on the phone while driving. I believe that in order to drive any truck or suv you should have a road test and a special permit to attest that you are capable of operating a large vehicle. I base all of this on what I have witnessed driving in various parts of Texas.

edit: NBC nightly news recently discussed the growing number of teenagers whose parents buy them suv for safety reasons and it revealed that in 3 out of 5 wrecks involving teenagers, the teenager was driving a truck or suv and was at fault for the accident.
