QUOTE
Satellite navigation systems can stunt your brain, preventing it from developing, according to scientists. They have discovered that taxi drivers have actually grown more brain cells because of all the knowledge they keep in their heads.

Makes sense to me. People lack problem solving skills these days because they are too reliant on technology

I can barely do simple math in my head since I started using scientific calculators in high school.

so would you say people are less knowledgeable with technology? give me a freakin break. instead of scientists sitting around with slide rules taking days to do calculations that take seconds now, they're making new discoveries and delving deeper into their respective fields.

back when our parents were in high school, people were geniuses if they took trig, now that's a friggin junior high class, with some people have 2-3 years of calculus before they graduate.

taxi drivers have more brain cells... whooptiedoo, they're still f'n taxi drivers.

Yet another thread taken entirely too seriously by impala so he can appear to be Mr. Sarcastic Intelligence.

All Im saying is that the average person (not talking about scientists and math gooroos) takes shortcuts in life like GPS systems and calculators so that they can avoid using their brain. People are stupid. They dont want to do anything for themselves. I like to do things that are challenging so that I feel a sense of accomplishment....even with small things like finding my way using a map instead of an automated voice that steps me through each and every curve in the road.
