When I go to reinstall Windows, it's creating a new partition under a "D" drive with my 110gb and I have a "C" drive that only has like 4gb. Can I put the 110gb on my "C" drive without deleting what's on it, because I can't save some things to my "D" drive. I'm afraid it's going to screw with critical stuff that could affect me running Windows at all.

Wait, what? You're asking if you can put 110 gigs of material on your C drive that only has 4 GB of space left?

From the sounds of it you need some backup/imaging software, a place to store it, and perhaps some repartitioning tools.

No way i'm walkin through this over the internet. Good luck ! heh

pretty sure i understand.

he's not talking about MOVINVG 110gb to a different drive with only 4gb available..

he just wants the 110gb partion to be called C, and the other one to be called D (if he wants the 2nd partition at all).

you most likely have only one physical hard drive, and it's partitioned because you did it, or the more likely... you have a dell/hp/compaq whatever and it was like that when you got it. it was like the when you got it because it just has backup stuff on there.

you dont really need it and yeah you could just delete both partitions and create a new partition thats just one (114gb). but maybe you want it?

but in deleting the 2 partitions and creating one partition, he would lose everything. he wants to know how to not lose that. Jason, if you only want to back up the shit on the 4 gig partition, thats not going to take but 10 minutes... back it up on cd then re-partition your drive

No. You can always choose to either partition your drive or not, at least in my experience that's been the case.

I think it depends on the install disks that come with the computer. Im sure there is a way to chose advanced options during the install and change it but it might default to that.

my main problem was that when i tried to put it all on the C drive, warnings were given that important portions of the hard drive could be lost. so i put it on the D drive the first time around. But I could not save directly onto that D drive.

so i said fuck it, and took the chance to reformat the C drive and start all over risking the hard drive. i was really just asking if this was safe. but i didnt say that. oh well. i fixed it

You know we don't really give a fuck about grammar and spelling around here. However, it is important to speak/type in a manner that is comprehensible to others! Nobody can fix your problem if they don't understand what the problem IS.

A psychotic world we live in. The madmen are in power. How long have we known this? Faced this? And--how many of us do know it? Perhaps if you know you are insane then you are not insane. Or you are becoming sane, finally. Waking up. I suppose only a few are aware of all this. Isolated persons here and there. But the broad masses... what do they think? All these hundreds of thousands in this city, here. Do they imagine that they live in a sane world? Or do they guess, glimpse, the truth...?

funny how he pretty much dictated to me what to say (seeing as how he was screwing around with his computer i posted for him) and we both seemed to understand it.

maybe the first thing that came to mind was trying to shove 110gb into 4gb space, but once that option was ruled out because hes not that stupid and it doesnt make sense, i would think you would try to figure out what else it could mean.

thank you jonathan.

Does anyone here read minds?

Im not trying to take sides, but maybe KC understood what he was saying because she has been dating him for a couple of years....

I mean, I know I can predict what Will is going to say a lot of times so maybe she just "gets" him

Either way, I dont think anyone in this thread besides KC and him could truly have known what he meant without messaging him and asking questions.

actually...there's something you should know. i'll let Jason tell you. it'd be more appropriate that way.
